Bangka Belitung Islands Province (abbreviated Babel) is a province in Indonesia consisting of two main
islands namely Bangka Island and Belitung Island and small islands such as P. Lepar, P. Pongok, P.
Mendanau and P. Nasik Strait, total islands which has been named 470 and only 50 islands inhabited.
Bangka Belitung is located in the eastern part of the island of Sumatra, close to the South Sumatra
Province. Bangka Belitung is known as a tin-producing area, has beautiful beaches and inter-ethnic
harmony. The capital of the province is Pangkalpinang.
The Bangka Strait separates Sumatra Island and Bangka Island, while the Gaspar Strait separates
Bangka Island and Belitung Island. In the northern part of the province there is the South China Sea,
the southern part is the Java Sea and Kalimantan Island in the east separated from Belitung Island by
the Karimata Strait.
Bangka Island is very famous for its beautiful beaches. Generally the beaches in Bangka are white and
fine sandy, but there are also golden yellow ones such as grains of rice. Sloping beach with fairly large
waves and surrounded by volcanic rock that is unique and beautiful. Some of the famous beaches on

Specifically Belitung Island is a beautiful island with white sand, unique scenery with original white
sand beaches dotted with artistic granite stones and crystal clear sea water and surrounded by
hundreds of small islands. One of the best and unique beaches in Indonesia, such as:
Getas or Keretek is a food made from fish and flour which is made by sharing shapes that taste almost
the same as crackers.
Kritcu is a food made from the main ingredient of squid eggs and sago and added flavorings with small
and long shapes.
Rusip is a food made from basic ingredients of Bilis fish that is washed clean and sterilized, then mixed
with a balanced composition of salt. In addition, sugar sugary water is also added so that the aroma is
more pronounced, then stored until it is cooked without heating.
