Excellence The PGDM (GM) course has its roots in the core mission of XLRI, that seeks
to nurture responsible global leaders of tomorrow, for the greater common
good and a sustainable future. The course aims at strengthening existing
skills and core competencies of the participants, while at the same time
encouraging the pursuit to expand and broaden their scope of knowledge.
The purpose is to enable real-world application of this knowledge. The pedagogy
adopted for the PGDM (GM) course has been carefully designed to cater to current
industry needs and is a fine blend of core management courses and a diverse range
of electives across business domains. The program encapsulates a balanced mix of
classroom teaching, group discussions, case-based studies and individual and group
project assignments. Experiential learning plays a key role in the holistic development
of participants as they transform themselves into business leaders of tomorrow.
From activity-based learning of organizational behaviour to contemporary case-
based analysis of business ethics, the course is designed to harmonize with industry
requirements to make the participants corporate-ready.
A key component in the design and structure of the course is the learning
beyond the classroom through programmes such as Rural immersion Program
and Outbound Leadership Program. The premise of the Rural immersion
Program is to develop a perspective to address the problems of rural
communities by providing participants with first-hand experience of India’s
rural realities to enable them to understand the strengths, needs, aspirations
and constraints of these communities. The Outbound Leadership Program is
an opportunity for the participants and to hone their leadership skills in
the face of challenging circumstances.
The PGDM (GM) course seeks to impart a complete
transformative learning experience and a platform to
have an integrated view of various functionalities across
multiple business domains. The diverse work experience
of the participants across industries and domains adds a
vibrancy to the warp and weft of the course’s design.
The course provides an invaluable opportunity to develop
business acumen and industry knowledge, to enhance
peer-to-peer learning and to transform individuals into
competent professionals ready to take on the

Leadership Committee
The Leadership Committee’s purpose is to establish, strengthen and leverage
industry connections to promote experiential learning. It organizes “XLRI
Leadership Series – XLS” for the students to develop insights and knowledge
from the experiences of leaders, coming from various walks of life.

Alumni Committee
The Alumni Committee keeps the PGDM (GM) community relevant by connecting,
engaging and celebrating with its alumni through various meetings and events
throughout the year. The Alumni committee also publishes a monthly Alumni Newsletter
and a quarterly Alumni Magazine besides maintaining the Alumni portal.

Branding Committee
The Branding Committee develops interesting and innovative ways to further
the vision of the PGDM (GM) program to the outside world. It engages on a
variety of platforms including social media and live events to impress upon

Career Development Cell


Career Development Cell focuses on skill gap assessment and development
needs of PGDM (GM) participants. It coordinates with different clubs and
interest-based groups to inculcate the peer-learning culture in fellow
batchmates.

Cultural Committee
The Cultural Committee provides opportunities for students to appreciate
and celebrate their cultural diversity by organizing various events and
festivals. It brings together faculty and students by creating a home-away-
from-home experience for students during their stay at XLRI, in the process,
creating joyful moments that are cherished by all.

Infra Committee
The Services Committee upholds the best traditions of hospitality at
XLRI in hosting guest leaders, alumni and recruiters in campus at the
behest of the PGDM (GM) program.

Sports Committee
The Sports Committee brings out the true team spirit of the batch. It keeps the class
energised by organizing several sporting events around the year in addition to keeping
people on their toes by scheduling regular games and matches among the students.
The Sports Committee leads from the front in organising XLerate — the annual inter
