    What is AI

    Today we often use online shopping platforms such as Amazon, Ebay, Flipkart etc. When we purchase an item, we can see that our app starts showing us more similar or
    related items. We can see the similar things even on surfing other websites. Even when we select a photo in our smart phone gallery, the phone shows us more related
    photos. This is a common example of AI.

    For a common person Artificial Intelligence is ability of a machine / computer to perform a task that a human does the same by using his intelligence. AI machines usually
    shows the following behaviours connected with our (human) intelligence- learning, problem solving, knowledge, manipulation, reasoning, representation etc.

    There are two types of AI. Narrow (weak) Ai and General (strong) AI. Use of narrow AI is common and we see everywhere. It can be defined as computers that have been
    made learn to carry out specific work without specifically programmed how to do so. We come across type of AI in voice or language recognition in todays smart phones.
    Apple’s SIRI or Google’s ASSISTANT are some examples. We have heard about self-driven cars these days. This is
    nothing butt an example of VISION-RECOGNITION. This type of
    computers can only be learnt to do specific tasks. That why it is called
    Narrow AI. Narrow AI is used in drones, personal and business calendars,
    booking tickets, helping doctors in X-rays, Online shopping.

    Artificial General Intelligence is quite different. It is adaptable intellect as


    we have. It is capable of learning how to carryout totally different tasks.
    It is not available today and one can’t say today when it will be available.

    Some common terms of AI are Neural Networks, Machine Learning


    (Supervised Learning, Unsupervised Learning and Reinforcement
    Learning), Deep Learning etc.
