    The Life and Works of Jose Rizal
    PART I.
    LESSION I: The Rizal Law
    Objective:
    a. Discuss briefly the Rizal Law.
    b. Analyse the impact to the youth at present the implementation
    of Rizal law.
    LESSION II: Life of Rizal
    Objective:
    a. Discuss important landmarks in the life of Jose Rizal.
    b. Analyse how these landmarks molded the mind and heart of
    Jose Rizal
    c. Using the definition of word “hero”, Justify how these
    definitions apply to Jose Rizal.
    LESSION III: Works of Rizal
    Objective:
    a. Identify parallel events in Noli Me Tangere and El
    Filibustererismo that are still relevant to the situation of the
    Philippines at present.
    b. Review the different characters in both novels. Write your
    analysis.
    c. Write an essay to answer the following:
    1. What is freedom?
    2. How is the lack of freedom portrayed in the novel?
    3. How is the situation in the novel different from the present
    time?
    4. What is the role of the youth in the development of the
    future and society?
    PART II.
    ACTIVITY I: DID Rizal Retract?
    Objective:
    a. Discuss first about the retraction of Jose Rizal.
    b. Justify your answer if Rizal did retract or didn’t retract?
    ACTIVITY II: Controversies about Rizal
    Was Rizal the Jack, the Ripper? On May 24, 1888, Rizal was in London’s
    British Library to copy the book “Sucesos de las islas Filipinas” by hand.
    Objective:
    a. Discuss the controversies about Rizal.
    b. Give your opinion regarding the issue.

    Fortifying Character
    ACTIVITY III: Indolence of the Filipino People
    Objective:
    a. Discuss briefly the topic.
    b. How Jose Rizal react regarding the Indolence of the Filipino
    people?
    c. In your own opinion “can we say that at present the Filipino
    people are Indolence”?

    PART IV: REACTION PAPER

    3. Introduce sub-arguments or sub-themes that you are going to use to


    support your thesis.
