INTRODUCTION
The World Health Organization (WHO) said that every year, more than 3.4 million people die as a
result of water related diseases, making it the leading cause of disease and death around the world and
most of the victims are children. In the Philippines alone, about a million get sick with water-borne diseases
and these are accredited to the poor water system in our country. Despite the uncertainty, a solution has
appeared in the thousands of water refiling stations that now scatter in the Philippines landscape.
Water refiling station provides greater access to purify drinking water by drinking water by bringing
water quality standards to customers. With water purification and distillation processes that have been
around for many years, the water is safeguarded from harmful chemicals, bacteria, amoeba, and other
disease causing agents. Establishments in the water refiling station line of business sell water as a public
utility to households, businesses and public entities. This line of business has performed well over the
decade and population growth, as well as occurrence of drought and other hostile weather conditions and
water-related diseases have indeed increased demand for water supplied by industry operators. Water
refiling stations managed by private entrepreneurs offer a cheaper and more convenient solution to the
public’s safe drinking water needs. Watermart water refiling station offer customers with the safe and
healthy refreshment that comes with a very reasonable price. Watermart will provide the needs to purified
water of all the households and establishments around Iriga City and even the surrounding towns and
cities. The name of the business was from the words, “Water”

Business Model
There are three things needed in achieving the business goal which is to earn profit. First, we need
to consider and prioritize the customer’s desire which measures how the product
or services supplied byour business meet or surpass the customer’ expectation. Customer satisfaction is
important because it provides marketers and business owners with the metric that they can use to manage
and improve our businesses. The nect part is the product or services which is the purified water that we
offer. The internal activities that is mentioned here includes the purification process, the filling, sealing and
capping of the containers, etc. we also let our employees attend trainings and lectures about the business
so that their skills will be improved and they will be more efficient and effective workers. We will also focus
on product/service innovation so that the customer will continue to support the business. And lastly, the
business goals and financial targets of the business which is long-term. Our business goals are increasing
the profit margin, increasing the efficiency of the business and capturing a bigger market share, these
goals, whether it is financial goals or not, will help the business grow and achieve its objectives. Setting

Watermart’s target customers are everyone in the society although there is also a lot of water
refilling station nearby. Offices, schools or other establishments, households or even anyone that has the
need for a supply of daily purified water will be our target market. Watermart provides good quality purified
water to cater to the people’s need. In addition, we will also be targeting personal contracts as the
prospective customers. This is an ideal target market because a positive relationship already exist with the
personal contacts, making the water refilling station’s job of selling the products significantly easier. If this
will continue to progress, the number of customer count in the refilling station would progress largely. We
provide the healthiest, cleanest, cost effective and most common producer and distributors of water
purification system that offer quality and affordable products and services. Watermart goes the extra mile
by making it personal, providing special insight, assuring success and your peace of mind every step of
the way and for the first time, works with the budget, not the other way around.
MARKET SEGMENTATION
The Watermart market is divided into two segments which represent the needs of the customer.
The first group represent the customers who purchase the purified water in 5 gallons round or slim
containers and they could be from the offices, schools and other establishments or any people/group of
people that has the need of daily water supply and the second are those who purchase the 350 ml bottle
water (may it be one quantity or bulk). They could be anyone around the vicinity that needs bottled water
for big group of people where each will have one. They can use it for events where they need to provide
TERM OF SALE
Once the buyer order or purchase the water, the payment will also be given directly to the cashier.
We follow the policy, “pay as you order”. In case the buyer who purchases bulk order of 350 ml bottled
water was not able to pick the product from the store, we will be responsible for the delivery to the location
of the buyer but with additional delivery fee of 5.00. Regardless of what kind of term that we used, we
clearly communicate with the buyer. We use cash basis in our business to record the money when it
actually comes in and goes out of the business. Another term of sale that we use is that when the buyer is
on their 11th refill, it will already be for free and the succeeding refills the corresponding prices will be
applied. In terms of defect of the product, we will automatically change defective product to a new one.
CHANNEL OF DISTRIBUTION
Watermart Refilling Station sells its product directly to its customers. As the producer, the process
of production and filtration of the purified and alkaline water happens inside the store as well. We have the
machines like water tanks and water purifier and filter machine that is used for the whole process of
filtration. Aquastar Water Technology Systems Inc. is the supplier for our water refilling station needs, they
offer diverse and state of the art products and equipment that are needed in the water refilling business.
Equipment like pumps, pipes, tank, filter, R.O Membrane, UV Lights, Industrial salt, bottles, cap, seals, are
what they provide which is used in the process of production. It is located in 28 Manga Street, Concepcion
As for the advertising of the business, Watermart focus on personal contact. The people nearby
the location of the firm will technically talk about the new company established. Through personal
communication, the number of customer will increase annually. But our business doesn’t completely
depend on personal contacts only. Watermart will use flyers, advertisement or through the internet to

promote our business. Most of the people right now have a social media account and this will serve as a
visible medium to advertise our product. We, as the owner of the firm came up with another advertising
strategy. Since water refilling stations don’t usually have discounts, we come out with the “Buy 24 + 2”
promo for the 350 ml bottled water to attract more customers and also this is the fastest way to reach the
For the slim and round containers we have the “sign card promo”, wherein the customers will be
given a card. Every time they buy water, the boxes inside the card will be marked or signed by the front
liner or the technical assistant depending on whom among them is available. When all of the 20 boxes are
fully signed, it is the customer’s choice whether to claim their free 1 container of water. After claiming the
free item, the box intended for the free item will be marked so that the customers will not use it for another
free item. Another idea of advertising is through display advertising, specifically through flyers.

Pricing Strategies
Generally, people will go for the product that is affordable but has good quality. That is what our
products will be. Our alkaline and purified water has a good quality for it undergone the complete process
of filtration that is needed but at the same time, we will make sure that the process will not be a burden to
our customers.
Advertising Strategies
To market our product easier, we will reach the market through easiest way, the social media.
People nowadays are into social medias like Facebook or Instagram and we will take that opportunity to
make our business known. A Facebook and Instagram page will be created and as more people will follow
our page, the more people will know about the business. As for the people who are not into Facebook and
Instagram and stuff, we will provide flyers and put tarpaulins in areas like market, near the schools and
establishments for them to know about the business. For the location of the store, we looked for a spot
where a lot of vehicles pass around the area and people usually pass b every day. There must also be a
lot of establishments around that might have the demand that water stations supplies. And as customers
patronize our business, technically, they will talk about our product to other people and through personal
Sales Strategies
To ensure the success through sales of our product, the costumers are our priority. We will sustain
relationships with clients by maintaining the quality of products and fast response or service. Developing
and sustaining long-term, mutually beneficial relationship with its clients. Finding potential clients everyday
will be useless if our business cannot maintain a good relationship with them considering that water is a
continuous need and people will easily look for another provider if they are not satisfied with your service.

The following is a detailed description of each of the steps in our water purification process:
SEDIMENT FILTER
Our complex purification process begins with a simple, pleated- paper sediment filter. This filter
traps relatively large particles which may be present in the water things like dirt, sand, slime and
grit. It’s necessary to start the process with this basic step in order to remove this large particles
which could foul or clog the more sensitive equipment used at later stages.
ION EXCHANGE
The next step is the removal of various metallic elements through a process known as ion
exchange. Sometimes referred to as “softening”, on exchange utilizes large tanks which are filled
with a special negatively- charged resin. The resin serves as reservoir for positively charged sodium
and potassium ions. As water passes through the ion exchange system, metallic ions, which carry
a strong positive charge, displace the more weakly charged sodium and potassium ions. The
metallic ions are thus trapped via electromagnetic attraction to the resin particles. The ion exchange
beds are then automatically cleansed and regenerated as prescribed intervals based on water
volume.
Ion exchange provides highly effective removal of the metals responsible for the pipe scaling and
deposits. The process also removes various heavy metals, such as lead, mercury, iron and calcium,
ACTIVATED CARBON
Once the water passes through the ion exchange system, it moves into an oversized granular
activated carbon bed. Carbon filtration (also known as charcoal filtration), which utilizes a process
Pesticides, herbicides and other organic contaminants are also removed in this stage. Carbon also
does an excellent job of removing trihalomethanes (THMs) from the water. THMs are a class of
chemicals which result from the interaction of chlorine and decaying organic matter in the public
supply. These chemicals are known as carcinogens, and the high levels found in local water
ULTRAVIOLET DISINFECTION
At this step of the process, the water passes through a special chamber which houses a large
ultraviolet light act as a powerful sterilizing agent. If any bacteria, viruses and other microbiological
contaminants are present in the water, the ultraviolet light at this particular wavelength destroys
the genetic material within these organisms, eliminating the possibility of bacterial or viral
reproduction and proliferation. The organisms quickly die and are captured and removed during
REVERSE OSMOSIS
In reverse osmosis, high pressure is used to force water across a membrane while impurities are
left behind. In other words, the high pressure causes the impurities to become more concentrated
on one side of the membrane. Only the pure water is able to cross the membrane; even the
dissolved impurities which cannot be removed by conventional filtration are captured and
The reverse osmosis system featured at Watermart utilizes state-of-the-art technology for both
purified water production and quality control. Every drop of our purified water must pass through
OZONATION
The second phase of chemical-free disinfection is known as ozonation. Ozonation relies on oxygen
to ensure that our purified water remains free of any possible microbiological contamination. The
ozonation process takes basic molecular oxygen (O2) and passes it through a special chamber in
which it is exposed to high voltage electrical charge. The electricity causes the oxygen molecule
to split and recombine in a higher-energy form known as ozone (O3). This ozone is then
continuously circulated through the purified water. Ozone is a very powerful disinfectant and is
STORAGE
After the water has passed through the preceding steps, it moves into the storage and recirculation
phase. The system has been designed so that Watermart will retain its exceptionally high purity
and will not come into contract with any materials or substances which could in any way

that brass, a component of any plumbing systems, can be a primary source of lead contamination.

RECIRCULATION
Watermart does not simply sit in storage after purification. Instead, the water continuously travels
through a recirculation loop. In addition, the ozone levels are continuously monitored and controlled
to ensure that all of our product water in storage is always ready for bottling.
