and Reloading Equipment
for Handgun Ammunition
AMMO LOAD
In terms of speed, the Ammo Load is set to run at its maximum of just over
5,000 cycles per hour. This speed may be reduced if loading at a more leisurely
pace is desired. Many users produce between 3,000 and 5,000 rounds per hour.
The primary factors governing the quality and quantity of ammunition produced is
the quality of the components, particularly the cases, the caliber, and the capabilities
of the operator.
The Ammo Load Mark X is the same exact machine as the Mark IV. The
model name was changed to reflect which machines were made under the new
ownership, Ammo Load Worldwide, Inc. We are pleased to carry on the high quality
tradition of the Ammo Load.
A case is automatically oriented and fed from the feeder into the service tube. The
slide then positions the case at the first station.
Station
1. Case Check: A switch automatically shuts off the machine when a case is
deformed or contains foreign material. Depending on their condition, cases may
need refurbishing prior to reloading. Reconditioning equipment is available from
other manufacturers.
2. Size and Deprime: Sizing is done with a tungsten carbide die to 80% of case
length. Deprimes previously fired cases. The spring loaded die snaps the primer off
the decapping pin and away from the case. Adjustable to run new or primed cases.
3. Primer and Primer Disk Check: Seating depth is quickly adjustable.
Primers are visible two stations ahead. Positive indexing assures precise priming.
A switch shuts off the machine in the event that the disk does not index correctly.
Adjustable to run new or previously primed cases.
4. Belling: Belling the case is accomplished with a die, which is individually
adjustable for the desired bell.
5. Powder Feed: Consists of a disk with six brass inserts which are reamed to a
precise dimension for accuracy of charge. One insert fills at the rear while the front
one dumps its load into a case. This disk is in motion for only 25% of a cycle to
allow sufficient time to completely fill the measure and unload the powder. Two
charges are always visible ahead of the one filling the case. Accuracy of the
powder charge is within +/- 1/10 grain. A transparent powder disk cover restricts
foreign material from entering the powder disk.
6. Powder Check: A switch stops the machine in the event of an over or under
charge. This serves as a check on the accuracy of the powder load and can be
adjusted for different powder charges.
7. Bullet Seating: Adjustable to seat the bullet at the desired depth.
8. Crimp: The crimp is tapered and is adjustable to the desired degree of crimp.
Additional seating of the bullet can be accomplished, if desired.
9. Final Sizing: A die assures proper cartridge size is maintained after the seating
and crimping operations have been performed.
The completed round exits conveniently off to the right of the machine, away from
the operator.
Operating the machine at a leisurely 3,600 cycles will produce on completed round
per second. It is designed for up to 5,000 per hour.
SPECIAL FEATURES
Calibers
Four standard calibers to choose from: 38 Special, .357 Magnum, 45 ACP, 9mm or
40 S&W.
Choose a loader set up in any of fifteen additional calibers. Special order
calibers available include 10mm, 38 S&W, 380 Auto, 44 Magnum, and 44 S&W.
Custom order calibers include 25 Auto, 30 Carbine, 32 Auto, 32 S&W Long, 32 S&W
Short, 38 Auto, 41 Magnum, 45 Long Colt, 45 Win. Mag, and .454 Casull.
Conversion kits are also available in all calibers offered and are sold separately.
Station #1 and #2 double sizing set-up for 9mm splits the sizing function between
the first and second stations. This reduces the stress of sizing the entire case at just one
station and allows for sizing further down on the case. This is an optional feature.
Station #3 primer magazine is serviced by tubes filled with primers. The tubes may
be filled manually or by a separate unit, the Automatic Primer Tube Filler. This unit is a
highly recommended piece of accessory equipment and is sold separately.
Station #5 powder flask has a capacity of 32 oz. of standard powder. It contains a
removable flask screen to filter the powder before it is dropped. May be used with all types
of powder regardless of granule size.
Station #5 special powder flask assembly with a shut off valve built in. This
eliminates powder spillage from the base when removing the flask.
Station #6 reduced spillage powder check rod improves the accuracy of
your powder charge by minimizing powder spillage at the powder check station.
Station #7 bullets are gravity fed by service tubes. Each tube has a capacity of
approximately for 38 or 45 wad cutters. The Automatic Bullet Feeder is a recommended
piece of accessory equipment and is sold separately.
Station #9 bullet knowckout is a punch which frees a round should it stick in the final sizing
die. It operates at the top of the stroke dislodging the round before it comes down on the
following round.
Feeding Components
Automatic case feeder with a capacity of approximately 500 cases at one time.
Modified Ramp in the case feeder bowl is designed to virtually eliminate upside down
cases from making their way to the loading stations.
Base mounted case feed switch shuts off the machine if no cases remain or if the
slide doesn’t pick up a case from the case feed tube.
In-line slide assembly functions to position the cases at the various stations. Spring
tension allow the operator to easily remove a case from any station.
Transparent front and right side guards serve as a buffer between the operator
and the working stations. The front guard pivots for convenience and when out of its
proper position the machine will not function.
Three shut off switches located in the case fee, primer feed, and bullet feed areas.
Each switch will automatically shut the machine off at a low feed point. This eliminates
operating the machine without case, primers or bullets.
Shut off switch insulators inhibit foreign particles from entering the switch. While
covering the gap on the top of switches using reset tabs, it does not inhibit the proper
functioning of the reset tab.
A light panel conveniently incorporated into the base of the machine indicates which
shut off switch has been activated.
Mark X is designed to run on 110 v. – 60 cycle A.C. The variable speed, D.C. motor
with control box enables the operator to adjust the production rate from 0 to 5,000 cycles
an hour with the turn of a knob. Particularly convenient when training new personnel or
observing a particular station operation.
Operation by a foot switch allows the operator to stop the loader by simply
removing his foot from the pedal.
Electronic brake virtually eliminates travel of the head after power to the machine is
shut off. This is an optional feature and is sold separately.
