Reflection:
I realized that being in the actual workplace really feels different. I had been thinking and
imagining what it would really feel to work even before. I have come to realize how busy the
working people are and each one of them has really difficult tasks intended for them. Moreover, I
figured that it would be easier and lighter to work when you are surrounded by people who make
Narrative:
Our second day was busier than the first one because we already had something to do.
When our supervisor arrived, she saw us and asked us if we were wearing make up because it
was one of our requirements. We did not actually have enough time because we still have one
subject before our immersion which is why we just did a simple and very light makeup. Ms.
Lorraine then somehow scolded us and told us that our makeup was too light. They haven’t still
given us any task so we already asked for something to do for us to be able to document
something. Moreover, it was quite boring if we do not do anything so we really had to make the
first step and ask something to do. We were asked to arrange their recent Customer Information
and Specimen Signature Card alphabetically. It was easy for us to do it since it is not that thick
Reflection:
I have realized that team work in the actual workplace is really essential to create a more
productive business environment. A person who is working especially the professional ones

After our 2-week Christmas vacation, our classes resumed a day after New Year. All of
us were really lazy to attend our class. However, we needed to go back to reality and return to
our academic selves. For our first immersion day for 2019, we were given the chance to hold and
count their cash. We were really nervous with the possibilities that we could misplace the money
and we would have to replace it with our own. When we were already finalizing the number of
each denomination, there were some bundles that we have counted incorrectly that some of them
lack couple of bills or some of them were exceeding. It was a different experience but it was
exciting.
Reflection:
This day made me realized how actual workers in reality don’t receive ample time of
vacation however they could not complain because that is how the workplace works. It opened
my eyes that I should value my free time more and be more productive whenever I am given
time.

For almost 2 weeks of not being able to go to work immersion because of the exams and
the intramurals, we returned at Producer’s Bank last January 24. As a welcome, we were tasked
to do something that we haven’t tried before, the call back. In doing a call back, we need to
check the PR numbers of all papers that is inside the plastic for a specific date. The plastic
container contains the checks, teller’s blotter, deposit slips, withdrawal slips, receipts and other
transactions done within the day. We are also given separate large sheets of paper, like the size
of a 10 column columnar which is the Financial Transactions Listing Report for a specific date.
We had a difficult, confusing, yet fun time doing this task. I think the font of the words written in
the paper was only size 8. We need to find two of the same PR numbers for each transaction.
There are times that we could not find the pair of the PR number because the words seem to be

There are more than what we think on how banks work. Commonly, we just think that
banks are solely for investments, loans, deposits, and withdrawals. However, bank workers does
several work behind those. I also realized that bank transactions are very confidential and must
always be exact and precise which is why checking of transactions is really essential to assure

The succeeding week of January 30-31, our accounting head asked us to do the call back
again. It is one of the most regular tasks that we do together with other work immersion students
assigned in Producer’s bank; probably because it is really time-consuming and it is one of those
“not-so-confidential” papers that we could work with. We were just laughing at each other when
one of us couldn’t find the pair of one PR number. Elaine, from 12-Simon even joked that
continuously doing call backs would break her dream of becoming a flight attendant because she
said her vision might be affected because of the tiny sizes of the words.
Reflection:
I realized that in the workplace, we have no right to complain even if we are asked to do
the same things all over again because that is how things go. Things like the call backs that we
did were necessary to be done routinely to just to assure the accuracy of the transactions made. I

It is our pre-final exam last February 7 which is why we only had our immersion on
Wednesday. We only did one job for this day and that is to arrange the bills that would be placed
in the ATM. We needed to arrange the bills from the newest ones, those in the middle, down to
the oldest ones. We joked about how would it feel if our parents would hand us a bundle of thick
yellow paper bills and tell us, “Wag kang uuwi hanggang di ubos yan”.

Although we haven’t done that much for this week, I have realized how private and
confidential things go in banks. People working in there are held accountable for large sums of

For our last week in our work immersion, I felt both happy and sad. I felt happy because
we did not have to go out of school anymore, wear corporate clothes and put on make-up every
week. However I was also sad because I would miss the experience and I would like to learn
more things. When we let our supervisor and the employees know that it was already our last
week, they refused to give us work to do on Wednesday. On our last day, our co-immersion
students brought food for the employees also for their last day and they also asked us to eat with
them. We helped them in cutting and pasting the names of teachers on the folders for their salary
loans. We had also done replenishing for the last time as well as arranging the paper bills.
Reflection:
I have realized how much I have learned from our entire experience and how we built
relationship not only with our bosses but also with other students. I also felt glad with the
reaction of the employees when we let them know that it was our last week. As we reach our last
week, I have recognized that there was so much professionalism that was nurtured within me.
