    15011/91/2013-SC/ST-W, doted 12/10/2015.
    4) Hon'ble High Court of Karnataka, judgement in WP no. 30666/2019,
    dated: 19/09/2019

    With reference to the above captioned subject, regarding registering


    FIR, your attention is invited to all the above references(Copy enclosed).
    Directions given by Hon'ble High Court of Karnataka in WP No. 30666/2019,
    (GM-RES) Umapathi Vis State and others, are reiterated below for strict
    compliance by all the unit officers:-
    (a) Even if the alleged offence has been committed outside the territorial
    Jurisdiction of the Police Station. FIR Shall still be registered and
    the same shall be transferred to appropriate Police Station:
    (b ) The Police officers should be clearly informed that failure to comply
    with the direction of registration of FIR and a receipt of information
    about cognizable offence may invite prosecution of the Police officer

    under section 166-A of IPC ond It may also Invite departmental action
    against them.

    2. All the Unit Office rs ore hereby directed to communicate this order
    to all their Subordinate Police Officers and police stations to scrupulously abide
    by the directions of the Hon'ble High Court of Karnataka. Disciplinary action
    w ill be initiated against erring officers for non compliance. The senior officers
    will be liable for contempt of court proceedings in the event of violation of
    these orders.

    should acknowledge the receipt of this circular by name cover to the
    undersigned immediately.
