 Job Description:
Works interdependently with doctors, co-nurses, medical technologists and other health
professionals with the following responsibilities: Responsible for all aspects of promotion
and protection of people’s health.
 Monitor vital signs and record intake and output of patients. Should discrepancies
arise, I refer to attending and/or house physicians.
 Insert intravenous fluids as ordered.
 Responsible in assessing patients’ care.
 Provide comprehensive nursing care as per established standards of practice using
nursing process.
 Assist in quality control and management of the unit.
 Responsible for drug administration and execution of physicians’ order.
 Take personal data from patients and/or relatives.
 Facilitate signing of consent of procedures/operations from patients and/or
relatives.
 Administer medications safely, and accurately observe adverse reactions.
 Prepare and assist physician diagnosing and instituting therapeutic procedures and
when examining the patient.
 Render bedside nursing care.
 Formulate nursing care plan using standard nursing process.
 Assist in patients’ education and rehabilitation including promotion of mental and
physical health.
 Assist during an operation.
 Monitor clients in labor.
 Helps in the delivery of baby and performs newborn care.
