    TASK 1: SHORT ANSWERS

    You have joined a Science Club. You have 5 messages from another club member.
    Write short answers and respond to each question (1-5 words)

    TASK 2: PERSONAL INFORMATION

    You are a new member of a Science Club. Complete the information by writing in full
    sentences using 29-30 words. You have 7 minutes to complete this task.

    Please write about your hobbies and tell us why you have joined the Science club.

    TASK 3: SOCIAL MEDIA CHAT

    You are a new member of a Science Club. You are chatting to Sammy in the online
    customer chat room. Respond to the messages using full sentences in 30-40 words per
    response.

    1. Hello! Welcome to the chat room. I’m keen on reading about science. Do you like
    reading? Where and when do you usually read?

    2. Wow! That sounds amazing! My favourite subject was science. What was your
    favourite subject at school? What did your teacher look like?

    3. It’s great to chat with another science fan. Did you hear that the club is going to carry
    out a science exhibition? What do you think of this idea?

    TASK 4: INFORMAL AND FORMAL EMAILS

    You are a member of a Science Club and you received this message from the club
    secretary.

    Dear Members,
    As you know, our club asks its members to share their feelings to make the most of our
    club. Therefore, we are asking our members to contribute with their ideas to carry out a
    science exhibition in the club. Should it be free, or should we ask for a fee? What kind of
    people should it be addressed to?

    Please, feel free to share with us your proposal.

    PART 1: Write an email to your friend who is also a member of the club, explaining
    your proposal regarding the science exhibition and ask their opinion. You should use
    informal English and write 40-50 words.

    PART 2: Now write to the club secretary offering your proposal to hold a science
    exhibition in the club. You should include if it should be free or on the contrary, if a
    fee should be asked for; say what kind of people it should be aimed at and the
    activities we should carry out. Write 120-150 words.
