Title : Information Technology park at Nagpur

 Introduction:

Information Technology (IT) is defined as the design, development,

implementation & management of computer based information systems,
particularly software application and computer hardware.

“Information Technology (IT) Parks (also referred to as Techno Parks, Cyber

Parks and Science Parks) have been established to facilitate the development of
IT industries that faster new business development and technological innovation
by use collaboration for maximum advantage within a cluster environment.

 Background

This paper is based on the premise that energy optimisation is possible in an

Information Technology park through design of daylighting. The motivation for
the study was born of the fact that in India, among all building typologies,
commercial buildings consume the maximum energy As we know that, IT
fastest growing industry in India with grow rates exceeding 50% per annum
main focusing on its office building.

 Why need ????

IT Office Building Designs Have Undergone Manifold Changes Because Of

Various Technological Innovations. Intensive Use Of Modern Technology Has
Created Issues Such As Global Warming, Greenhouse Effect And, Hence,
Requires Us To Think Seriously About The Importance Of Saving Energy And
The Necessity Of Designing Energy Efficient Buildings

Lighting Is The Major Energy Consumer In Office Buildings. The

maximum use of natural light in office building helps to reducing energy
consumption of light in building.

 IMPORTANCE OF NATURAL LIGHTING FOR EMPLOYERS

PERFORMANCE

* Produces a few acids in the human body which then increase impulse control,
motivation, calmness and, concentration

* Eye strain, which is considered as a large-scale problem in offices, gets

reduced with proper daylighting, resulting in reduction of stress of occupants.

* Increase the general well-being of the employers and provide communication

channels to outside environment.

* Induces an increase in productivity in task performance when compared to the

same task performed in poorly day-lit conditions.

* Good lighting conditions also increases interaction between employees

 Aim :

To understand and design an Information Technology park in composite climate

with the detail study focus on daylight factor.

 Objective :

*To create perceptual condition which allow employers to work effectively

*To make building an ideal place for work by providing visual communication
channels to outside

*To create favourable conditions for the creation and development of the new
ideas in the multi-component environment

*To study various types of openings and fenestration to penetrate maximium

natural light

*To provide an best infrastructure facility for IT industry under one roof.

 Scope & Limitations:

*IT building with residential & commercial activities near by .

*Use of various type of openings, façade and fenestration for penetrate

maximum natural light.

*The main focus on design IT office building with follow guidelines of

daylight.

 Methods of study

Day-lighting conditions change with change of season, bringing about

corresponding changes in daily illumination levels. It is out of the scope of this
study to take daily readings throughout the year. Readings for daylight were
mainly recorded for two seasons, i.e., summer and monsoon. Maximum light
and glare can be expecting in summer and minimum light and glare can be
expecting during the rainy season with overcast sky

Method should be adopt for this study, which is an actual field survey for
readings and feedback of users, Since the case studies are of existing buildings
(IT building in Nagpur)

1) Survey to findings daylighting design in office buildings in nagpur

Office timing considered: 9.00 am to 6.00 pm

Identified Case study 1 : persistent I.T. park

Identified Case study 2 : Info spectrum I.T. park

2) Consider guidelines for day lighting design in office buildings

The factors affecting daylight penetration (such as orientation, open spaces

around building, vegetation around building, placement of window, layout of
interiors, height of partitions, material & colour of internal partitions) and tries
to explore guidelines for designing with daylight
