Welcome to Bhalani!
Bhalani is a high performance, portable and versatile eBook Reader application that enables you to read eBooks anytime and anywhere. Beyond reading of simple text, Bhalani lets you take your reading experience further and add notes, highlight and search for text. Bhalani also provides easy navigation features and customizing options to redefine your reading experience to your liking.
To help you get started and get the most out of Bhalani, we have provided information about how to use it here.
USING THE APPLICATION
Bhalani works primarily in two modes, Library view and Reading view (explained in the next sections).
When the application is launched first time, you are first shown the screen in Library view.

LIBRARY VIEW
The Library view displays an overview of the collection of items.
READING VIEW The Reading view provides a full screen reading view of a single eBook’s content. To read a book, select the book in Library view. The toolbar appears across the top of your screen giving easy access to commonly used actions.

HIGHLIGHTS AND ANNOTATIONS
Highlights and annotations play a key role in active reading. You may need to highlight passages in books in order to refer back to key phrases easily. You may also like to add brief comments and queries as annotations while reading.
Create Highlights
To invoke the Highlight & Annotation menu, select text (previous section). Select option.

Search within Highlights
When you tap in the blank black line, the onscreen keyboard gets displayed. You can use it to enter the search term. Tap to perform the search after entering search criteria.
The search result is displayed. You can navigate to any search item by selecting it. To navigate within search results (when it exceeds display view), you can scroll to move in forward and reverse directions.

Search within annotation
When you tap within the search text box, the onscreen keyboard gets displayed. You can use it to enter the search term to search within the list of annotation notes. The search results are displayed. You can navigate to any search item by selecting it. To navigate within search results (when it exceeds display view), you can scroll to move in forward and reverse directions.

To clear the search text box, use in the onscreen keyboard.
To remove Annotations panel from view, tap anywhere in the reading pane.
SEARCHING WITHIN A BOOK
The search tool present in Bhalani application at the top right corner helps you to search effectively through eBooks for a particular word, phrase, or character string. It lets you find every instance of a word or phrase. When you tap within the search panel, the onscreen keyboard gets displayed. You can use it to enter the search term to search within the book.

All instances of the search term will be populated as a scrollable list in the search panel with its surrounding context besides being highlighted in the displayed page content.

ZOOM IN / ZOOM OUT
The Zoom in/Zoom out options allow ways to enhance readability. If you wish to see the reading content in larger size, you can zoom temporarily on the book page. It is quite straightforward. To zoom in, spread two fingers apart; to zoom out, pinch two fingers together.
