SPORTS NUTRITION INTERN Kansas City Royals
Surprise, AZ February 2019 – Present
● Worked closely with Team Sports Dietitian, Erika Sharp, RD, CSSD, throughout the 2019 Major League
Baseball season at the Royals player development complex in Surprise, AZ
● Performed one-on-one counseling sessions with individuals needing to make dietary changes in order to
obtain specific body composition goals or address any diet-related health issues
● Coached players and staff on their food choices during mealtime to help build awareness of their
nutritional needs and empower them to make more informed choices based on their personal goals,
activity level, and the time of day
● Approved weekly menus and provided feedback on meals to kitchen staff at Surprise complex
● Operated shake station during pre- and post-game meals throughout major league spring training
● Led nutrition education classes for the Royals Latin players as well as the scout teams during instructional league
● Handled catering orders for all pre- and post-game meals for three minor league teams
● Wrote feedback reports to the clubhouse manager for all minor league affiliated teams after every homestand for
the purpose of making any necessary adjustments to the food being served to the team
● Created medical nutrition therapy handouts and social media content to educate on relevant nutrition topics

● Maintained inventory and restocked all dietary supplements, snacks, and frozen fruit
