helpful in various phases of the completion of this work and for their
unwavering support and also my english teacher This would not be
possible without my English teacher whose valuable teaching and
guidance has contributed so immensely for the completion of this work.
Plan of Investigation
I chose this topic to understand the advantage and disadvantage of
legalizing marijuana. However marijuana, doesn’t just help patients
recover from disease but also the economy. As a student of English I
hope that this research will help me to obtain further knowledge on
this topic. I also hope that my analytical skills will be developed further
as I done my assessment. I know that this activity will give me a general
understanding of issues and topics during my search for information on
my chosen topic .I also think that this activity will give me a better
understanding of the economics benefits of marijuana. My vocabulary
and writing skills will also be improved as a result of this activity.

REFLECTION
ENTRY ONE:
The picture selected is very clear about how marijuana smoking can affect
the user mentally. It
outlines examples of how it can do so. Since the brain is paramount to
human function, I am very concerned about this effect of marijuana
smoking, although I still believe it can be legalized.
The article on marijuana smoking also outlines both the positive and
negative effects of marijuana consumption. This article helped me to see
that there are as many positive effects of marijuana smoking as there are
negative effects. One huge reward would be the massive financial
rewards that we would reap. I am inclined to believe that marijuana
smoking may not be such a bad thing as every drug has negative effects.
I now have better knowledge about the benefits of marijuana smoking.
Consequently, I believe that marijuana can be legalized provided that
there are mechanisms put in place to control its use. We should
definitely not throw away the good uses of this drug because a few bad
effects.
The poem written by Micheal Reckord has helped me to understand both
the negatives and positives when it comes to Marijuana smoking. In this
West Indian poem, the person clearly shows that marijuana smoking can
be relaxing and helps one to meditate. On the other hand, he shows us
that if marijuana is to be legalized it may fall in the wrong hands and so
be used by the wrong people. This is seen when the person clearly states
that he is twelve years old.
Entry 2
The language in the picture obtained from the internet is very clear and
simple, yet it speaks volumes. The mental effects of marijuana are
summarized. The words, ‘say no to dope” and “stop pot” are catchy. They
allow the reader to remember the slogan long after they have been read.
In addition, the words ‘marijuana’ and ‘dope’ are in green while the rest
of the words and picture are in black and white. The colour green could
have been chosen to symbolize nature while the black and white around
it tells of the dangerous deadly consequences of using the drug.
Entry 3
Before completing this SBA I was forced by the media and teachers
around me to believe that marijuana smoking is simply a bad thing. Never
before have I looked at both sides of the issue and realize that there are
also some very good benefits of marijuana smoking, such as relaxation
and medicinal.
Before this SBA, I looked down on people who smoked marijuana. Being
more knowledgeable on the topic, I now understand why there is a need
for some persons to use the drug. Therefore, I am more tolerable of
marijuana users. I am also more open to listen to both sides of the debate.
