Question:

What are the advantages and disadvantages of apps, compared with Web sites, for mobile users?

Answer:

 When we compare mobile sites to different applications there are many different things
comes in your mind rather than advantages or disadvantages. Mostly businesses use apps
to grasp the attention of their customers and they often say how they value their own corner
on a customer’s device. This means that the app download gives them more control and
presence on that significant device. This has to do with the background settings that can
trigger locational based notifications. This background state gathers data about the
customer's preferences and behaviour.
 Secondly it is easier for the customers to use apps in comparison to a mobile website. With
a single click on the screen of your mobile app you can reach where ever you want rather
than opening a browser and typing URL.
 This also means that an app will always work (for your company) even when there is no
internet connectivity the app will mostly always have some sort of offline functionality
meaning that the use is more widespread than a mobile site (necessary to be connected to
the internet.
 First and foremost a mobile site is more dynamic, as in you can change the content or the
design of your website with a simple push of a button instead of having to rework the entire
application. When searching for a website you can simply google it and be directed to the
website, an app can be harder to locate as you need more precise keywords if you are trying
to find something specific.
 Applications need to be downloaded before you are able to use them. Mobile websites need
an internet connection, but before you can download any app you need the internet
connection as well.
 And last but not least the development of an application has both a time and financial cost.
Especially if you want presence on multiple platforms.

Question:

Will apps eventually make the Web irrelevant? Why or why not?

Answer:

I think that the web will not be obsolete due to the popularity of apps. Both will exist together and
will simply be attractive to different types of customers. It depends on your wants or what you are
looking for you can direct your attention to the Web or an app that you can download. But I think
we are at a stage where apps are here to stay and will keep rising steadily, but the Web is already
something omnipotent that we won't be leaving behind any time soon. The size of web cannot be
replicated by apps but you can develop apps for your ease For example looking up information,
buying things, playing games. But the usage of apps does limit your possibilities. The Web allows
you to use every possible site for it, once you download an app you are more inclined to get
information through this single app as it seems impractical to download multiple apps that
basically have the same functionality. This would overload your phone memory and it would be
less efficient than simply using the Web as this gives you many more choices with less effort.

Question:

What are the benefits of apps for content owners and creators?

Answer:

When creating an app that gets downloaded to a phone or another mobile device. You as a company
or a creator will have your own little corner on user device. This means that you get information
(both when there is an internet connection and when it's offline due to background processes) about
your consumers and you can discover their preferences and behaviour. The analytical value of this
information is amazing for a person with the knowledge to analyze and use this information.
Furthermore app users are more loyal and will be reminded of your app more than they would be
reminded of your website after using it. Downloading an app already means that there is some sort
of investment into the app that you simply cannot get with a website. For a creator an application
will feel more important than a website (due to time investment) and will feel more connected with
his product or application.
