-------
Remove some of default plots by “right-click and delete” on the tabs at bottom left of window
From top menu strip select “Insert” – “Sheet” – “Plot” – “Custom” from drop down list
From Plot Item Library, choose either “Plan Projection” or “Vertical Section”
For Level Plans choose paper size eg A0 and Landscape – you can reduce margins to 5
Next use “Format Display” icon to be able to adjust the display settings
In the “Overlays” tab you will see all the loaded files (Objects)
For Mine Design wireframe file – use Style “Intersection”; Colour – = “Fixed” – Light Grey, and Line Style Fixed
solid line, width =1
If there is a survey “asbuilt” development string file(s) for the Level use – Style = ”Lines”; Color = “Fixed” - brown
and width=1; Symbols = “Size” is Fixed = 0.0mm (so you do not see the individual points)
For each of the Fault wireframes – use Style “Intersection”; Colour – you can use Legend “Standard Datamine”
and Line Style Fixed solid line, width =1
You can do similar settings for Footwall wireframe and Dolerite wireframes, select an appropriate display colour
for each.
---
Change the “On section” line width to 4 (or wider if you wish)
Click on the “Section Exit” check box; Click “Configure” button and change “Angle” to 90, and “Offset” to 2, click
“OK” (you can adjust later if needed).
Click on the “End of Hole” check box; Select the check box for the drillhole file, Click “Configure” button and
change “Angle” to 90, and “Offset” to 2, click “OK” (you can also adjust later if needed).
Click on the “Font” button, select “ Color” from drop down arrow - BLACK (or other if you wish), select Font, Font
Style, and Size ( Arial – Bold – 8: but these you will likely want to vary dependent upon your Plot size), click “OK”
For tab Color;
First for “On Section” click the “Fixed color” check circle, and select light grey from range using drop down arrow
(this will set the colour to be displayed if there is no data (assay/lith code etc) for a depth range)
Then click on the “Color using legend” check circle; under the “Column” use the drop-down arrow and select the
column (Field) that you require – in this case “LITH1” (or whatever you have named the Lithology Field)
The under “Legend” use the drop-down arrow to then scroll to find the required Legend – in this case it is a user-
defined legend “LITH Gokona” (you will have your own or can generate a new Legend if needed). You can view
the Legend by clicking on the Legend box immediately to the right of the Legend drop-down selection tab.
Then click on “OK” button to return to the main “Format Display” window
Click on the “Insert” button, and in the “Select Column” window, choose the Field – in this case “AU” (or whatever
you have named your gold assay Field), and click “OK”
Select the “Width/Margins” tab; make the “Left Margin” to be 1.0 and the “Width excluding margins” to be 5,
(you can adjust later if required)
Click “OK”
----
For the Block Model file; under the “Color” tab, under “Column” use the drop-down arrow and scroll to find the
required Field (in this case “au”). Then under “Legend” use drop-down arrow and scroll to find required Legend
(in this case “AU2_Gokona”). Note that I have used the GC model (“gc_2gtm”) that has been filtered above 2g/t
(in Design window using “Copy” command and a filter of “au>2”).
Firstly, you need to move the data into the centre of the plot window. Click the “Pan” icon
Click and move/drag the data to the centre of field with the Pan tool
The scale is still way out, so you will need to adjust this;
Click on the “Size/Scale” tab and adjust the scale – do this iteratively, slowly change scale and “Apply” and check
data is still in plot window – Note: you may need to exit View Settings and use the Pan control to move data back
to the centre again or it tends to disappear off the plot..
Click “OK” to exit View Settings window
Now we need to adjust the overlay order to get best display
Select the block model and click on “First”, and then drillhole file and “Last” and then the Grid and “Last” and
then OK (you can order further if you need by using the up and down arrows)
Click on the “Font” button; select “Font” Arial, “Font style” Bold and “Size” 16 (vary for different plot sizes)
Select legend from the drop down menu – in this case “AU2_Gokona” for gold grade
Then click on the “Font” box, and set “Max Size” and “Min Size” to 16 (vary if required) and click “OK”
Click “OK” to exit Legend Box
You will see the legend in the plot window but it is not well sized
You can use mouse to grab corner and adjust size and then hover over until you find the crosshairs to move the
object about
Repeat the process to also display a legend for LITH1
Now we can add a title box – click on the Title Box icon
Click on “Contents” button; click on “Static” and then type required text in “Value” window:
Then click “OK” and “OK” again to get back to first window
Select “Row” 2 in drop down box
Select “Static” again and type in text as per example, and click “OK”
Click on Format button and select Centre and Middle, click off “Use Default Font” and then click on “Modify”
button
Type in 20 for font Size
Select “Row” 3 and click on Format button and select Centre and Middle
Click “OK” and for “Row” = 3, select “Cell” = 2; go to “Format” and select “Centre” and “Middle”; adjust font to
Bold 18, and click “OK”
Then select Cell=3 and click on Delete button to remove it
Then use the mouse to grab the title box and expand – then hover over shaded area to get the crosshair icon to
appear, and then drag to a new location on plot, and then use mouse to drag corner to enlarge slightly
Now you have a reasonable plot where we can see drillholes and model (hopefully)..
You can expand the plot on the window by clicking on it and dragging the corners with mouse
Then from top menu bar, pick “File” – Print Setup”
If you want to print straight to printer, select the printer and set up paper size and orientation.
To save the plot, instead of a printer you can select either an export tool: Cute PDF Writer, Adobe etc – depends
what you have available;
Then use “File” – “Print” and in Explorer select location and name to save
The grid spacing was a bit wide, so going back to grid, adjust to 20x20x20 with Major every 2:
From top menu use “Section” – “Orientation” – “Custom” to open up View Settings window again
Adjust the Z value to the new level elevation (“1160” in this case) – note: keep X and Y fixed so that all plans align
You can then adjust the Title Box
On plot click on the title box with mouse, then “right click” when over selected area to open a menu
Select “Title Box Properties” and the window will open up again
Click on “Contents” button and edit text to the new RL / Level and click “OK”
For Sections the process is similar; but you will use “portrait” orientation and adjust X value accordingly.
You can right click on the current plot tab to open a new plot and follow same procedure.
