Please go through the prospectus carefully. The applicant has to submit online application
Form A and Form B through website www.ouat.nic.in (Admission, Candidate login) or
http://ouat-lokaseba-odisha.in through student login. Candidate has to login providing e-mail,
mobile number and OTP to submit Form A and Form B. The candidate has to login to edit Form A
& Form B, download acknowledgement of Form A and B, admit card, entrance mark, weighatge &
rank card, seat allotment letter etc.
To appear the entrance examination on 26.04.2020, the candidate must have the admit
card and original ID proof (As per clause No. 5.6). Submission of application Form B is mandatory
for the admission process. Those who appear the entrance examination can submit the Form B
online. No hard copy of application form and any document will be accepted.

The Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT) was established in the year
1962 under the provisions of the Orissa Act, 20 of 1961 and discharges the triple functions
of teaching, research and extension education.
The University offers education in Agriculture, Horticulture, Veterinary Science & Animal
Husbandry, Agricultural Engineering & Technology, Fishery Science, Community Science
and Forestry in the semester system at the undergraduate and post-graduate levels.
Research and Extension programmes are carried out at the Regional Research &
Technology Transfer Station (RRTTS) and/or Sub-stations/ Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVK)
located in different parts of the state.

The University campus at Bhubaneswar is an academic complex of Colleges and Post
Graduate Departments, having highly qualified faculty. It has an Agricultural Research Farm,
a Forest Research Farm, Instructional Livestock Farm, a Poultry Farm, a Teaching
Veterinary Clinical Complex and an Engineering Workshop. There is a Central Library with a
large number of books, periodicals, book-bank and e-library facilities for the students. The
Central Lab. of the University is equipped with advanced instruments for cutting edge
research. Besides hostel accommodation, the University has a Health Centre along with a
Sports Complex consisting of playgrounds and a gymnasium with multi-gym facility.
The University has Students' Counseling Centre, University Employment Information and
Guidance Bureau, Communication Centre, Research Farm, Instructional Farm, Instructional
Live Stock Farm, Educational Museum and many more facilities to strengthen the skill and
talent of the students. Internet facility is provided to all the students admitted to professional
courses.
The graduates of the University have employment scope in Govt., Private, Public Sector
Undertakings, Corporate Houses and Nationalized Banks. Some of the graduates of the
University have also started their own enterprises. There are also Placement Cells in
respective Colleges. Internet facility is provided to all the Colleges, Hostels, and Central
Library.
2. ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION
2
2.1.1 Students admitted into B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture / B.Sc.(Hons.) Horticulture / B.Sc. (Hons.)
Forestry /B.Sc. (Hons.) Community Science without having Mathematics or Biology at the
+2 level will have to make up their deficiency by taking pre-requisite courses in the subject
(Mathematics / Biology) to be offered during the first two semesters.
i) Those who have passed H.S.C./Equivalent Examination with Odia as M.I.L. (These
candidate need not submit the Residential Certificate) from any school/ institution of
Odisha.
ii) Those who do not have Odia as M .I. L., but whose parents are permanent residents of
Odisha must furnish evidence of such permanent residency in the form of a certificate
from the Revenue Officer concerned not below the rank of Tahasildar /District Magistrate /
their employer concerned.
iii) Those who do not have Odia as M.I.L and whose parents are not permanent residents of
Odisha, but serving under the Govt. of Odisha/Central Govt. /Public Undertaking or any
University in the State of Odisha, such candidate must furnish a certificate to this effect
from the Head of the Office /Institution where his/her parent(s) is/are working.
iv) Odia candidates permanently residing outside Odisha must furnish a certificate in support
of their Odisha origin either from their Employer (as per Clause 2.2 (iii)) / Tahasildar /
District Magistrate of the District in which he/she is residing. Certificate to this effect can
also be submitted from the Tahasildar / District Magistrate of their native place of Odisha.
(v) The above provisions, i.e. 2.2 (i) to 2.2 (iv), are not applicable to ICAR/VCI /Foreign
Candidates/State Govt. sponsored candidates/children of employees of O.U.A.T/ J&K candidates
under Prime Minister’s Special Scholarship Scheme (PMSSS) / candidates under Kashmiri
Migrants/Kashmiri Pandit (Non-Migrants) / Kashmiri Hindu Families (Non-Migrants) categories.

3.6 At the time of document verification & admission candidate producing the documents that are
forged/tampered in any form shall be debarred from admission.
3.7 In future, if it is found that the documents furnished by the candidate have been obtained by
providing wrong information or suppressing/tampering facts, the candidate will be deprived of the
facilities already obtained and will be liable for legal punitive action.
3.8 If a candidate is debarred from admission to his/her reservation category seat at the time of
verification of documents and admission after 1st and 2nd round seat allotment, then he/she can
avail a seat in 3rd round of seat allotment & counseling as per availability of seats, his/her rank
under unreserved category and choices filled at the time of registration. Similarly, if a candidate
is debarred from admission after 3rd round seat allotment & document verification can avail a seat
in mop up round as per availability of seats, his/her rank under unreserved category and choices
filled at the time of registration.
3.9 The seats reserved for SC& ST candidates separately are not interchangeable.
3.10 ICAR/VCI seats falling vacant after OUAT counseling and admission will not be filled up in any
manner.
3.11 Eight percent (8%) and twelve percent (12%) seats are reserved for candidates belonging to
Schedule Caste and Scheduled Tribe respectively by birth (not by marriage or adoption).
Candidates applying for seats reserved for SC/ST category have to produce the original SC/ST
certificate from the Revenue Officer not below the rank of Tahasildar of the place of birth in
Odisha at the time of document verification and admission, falling which his/her admission to
SC/ST category seat will be denied.
Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe persons who have migrated from their state of origin to
another state for the purpose of seeking education, employment etc. will be deemed to be
scheduled caste/tribe of the state of their origin and will be entitled to derive benefits from the
state of origin and not from the state to which they have migrated (Vide Govt. of India Letter No.
B.C.-16014/1/82-S.C. & B.C.D.-1 dated 22nd Feb, 1985).
3.12 Five percent (5%) seats are reserved for Children of Green Card Holders. The candidates
applying under Green Card category have to produce the original Green Card of their parents
issued by Family Welfare Department, Government of Odisha at the time of document verification
and admission, falling which his/her admission to the GCH category seat will be denied.
The name, date of birth of the candidate along with the parents’ name should match with those
mentioned in 10th class pass certificate. A Candidate producing Green Card that is forged /
tampered in any manner will be debarred from the admission under GCH category.

3.13 Five percent (5%) of seats are reserved for Persons with Disability (PwD). The candidates
applying under PwD category have to produce the original PwD certificate issued from competent
authority at the time of document verification and admission (Notification No. S.R.O. No.
518/2012 dtd. 22.06.2012 of principal Secretary to Govt., Department of Women & Child
Development, Govt. of Odisha). The PwD certificate obtained from the competent authority
should have clear mention of percentage of disability and it should be minimum of 40%. In case
of temporary disability, the certificate should have mention about the review period and after the
review period, a fresh certificate has to be obtained and produced, falling which his/her admission
to the PwD category seat will be denied.
3.14 Three percent (3%) seats are reserved for wards of Armed Forces Personnel (AFP) as per the
F. No. 6(1)/2017/D(Res.II) of Govt. of India, Ministry of Defence, Department of Ex-
Servicemen Welfare, Notification No. I-TTI-81/2013 (PT-B)-431 / ETET dtd. 21.01.2014 of
Govt. of Odisha, Employment & Technical Education & Training Department and judgment
of Hon’ble High Court Odisha Vide W.P. (C ) No. 16218/2012 dtd. 30.11.2012. The selection
will be made from a separate merit list prepared on the basis of weighted score only.
Candidates applying under AFP quota shall produce the original Bonafide Certificate issued by
Rajya Sainik Board, Govt. of Odisha, Bhubaneswar-2 at the time of document verification and
admission, falling which his/her admission to AFP category seat will be denied.
3.15 For admission into B.Sc.(Hons.) Horticulture, eight (08) general seats and seven (07) cost
sharing seats shall be reserved for candidates of Western Odisha (WO). Candidate, claiming for
such reservation shall produce the original permanent residential certificate issued by a Revenue
Officer not below the rank of Tahasildar of his/her native area i.e. Angul (Athmallick Sub-
Division), Bargarh, Bolangir, Boudh, Deogarh, Jharsuguda, Kalahandi, Nuapada, Sambalpur,
Sonepur & Sundargarh for claiming admission under Western Odisha Category at the time of
document verification and admission, falling which his/her admission to WO category seat will be
denied.
3.16 In the event of non production of all original required documents at the time of document
verification and admission, the candidate will not be allowed to take admission.
3.17 Over and above the intake capacity and subject to fulfilling the minimum eligibility
under Clause 2.1
3.17.1 Three percent (3%) of the seats of total intake capacity is available for Foreign Candidates,
being sponsored by ICAR/ICCR or other fellowship holders sponsored by any statutory body of
Government of India, New Delhi through the Indian Embassy in their country, provided the
candidates meet minimum eligibility criteria as per Clause-2.1 of UG Prospectus - 2020 and
possess valid documents with payment of normal fees at par with Indian student of general
categories (Clause 13, also refer to Annexure VIII).
This also includes Foreign candidates without any fellowship from ICAR/ICCR/any statutory body
of GOI, who can directly submit their applications to the University for admission, provided the
candidate meet the eligibility criteria as per clause 2.1 of UG Prospectus and possess valid
documents with payment of fees as mentioned in Clause 16.2 of UG Prospectus-2020. However,
preference will be given to foreign candidates sponsored by ICAR/ICCR or other fellowship
holders sponsored by any statutory body of Govt. of India.
These candidates are not required to appear the OUAT UG Entrance Examination- 2020.
The candidates should have proficiency in English language.

3.17.2 Two seats in B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture in College of Agriculture, Bhubaneswar are available under
Supernumerary Quota for J&K students under Prime Minister’s Special Scholarship Scheme
(PMSSS) (Vide D.O. No. F. AICTE/Centralized Counselling / 2017-18 dtd. 6th October, 2017 of
All India Council for Technical Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of
India). The candidates have to produce the domicile certificate from the District Magistrate,
Govt. of J& K. These candidates are not required to appear the OUAT UG Entrance
Examination- 2020. The interested candidates must apply both Form-A and Form-B online,
without which admission is not allowed. The selection will be made from a separate merit list
prepared for those candidates on the basis of 10th and +2 Science marks (50:50 weightage) only.
3.17.3 One seat will be made available for the Children of the Kashmiri Migrants in each Course (for
Agriculture course, at College of Agriculture, Bhubaneswar) (Vide letter No. F.No. 3-1/2012-NER
dtd. 22nd July, 2016 of Govt. of India, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Department of
Higher Education). The candidate has to produce a certificate from competent authority for being
a migrant of Kashmir. These candidates are not required to appear the OUAT UG Entrance
Examination - 2020. The interested candidates must apply both Form-A and Form-B online,
without which admission is not allowed. The selection will be made from a separate merit list
prepared for those candidates on the basis of 10th and +2 Science marks (50:50 weightage) only.
3.17.4 One seat will be made available for the Children of the Kashmiri Pandit (Non-Migrants) / Kashmiri
Hindu Families (Non-Migrants) living in Kashmir Valley in each Course (for B.Sc. (Hons.) Agril.
course, at College of Agriculture, Bhubaneswar) (Vide letter No. F.No. 3-4/2017-NER dtd.15th
October, 2019 of Govt. of India, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Department of Higher
Education, Economic Administration Division). The candidate has to produce domicile certificate
from competent authority at the time of document verification and admission. These candidates
are not required to appear the OUAT UG Entrance Examination- 2020. The interested
candidates must apply both Form-A and Form-B online. The selection will be made from a
separate merit list prepared for those candidates on the basis of 10th and +2 Science marks
(50:50 weightage) only.
3.17.5 Six seats in B. Sc (Hons.) Agriculture, two seats in B. Sc (Hons.), Horticulture and two seats in
B.F.Sc. are available for State Government of Odisha Sponsored VAW/LVAW/Gardener/ Fishery
(JFTA), subject to fulfilling the minimum qualification of +2 Science (Clause 2.1). Out of the six
seats in B. Sc (Hons.), Agriculture, 2 seats each are available in College of Agriculture,
Bhubaneswar, College of Agriculture, Chiplima, College of Agriculture, Bhawanipatna,
respectively. The names on seniority basis along with the place of posting, allotted course and
college of the sponsored candidates are to be submitted by the concerned Government
Department to the Registrar, OUAT before 29.07.2020 positively. These candidates are not
required to appear the OUAT UG Entrance Examination. Once admitted, in a
course/college any request for change of course/college will not be allowed in any case.

3.17.6 Two percent (2%) of total seats in each college (subject to minimum of one) is reserved for son
and daughter of OUAT employees (working) on cost sharing basis. The certificate (Annexure-IV)
to this effect should be issued by the Registrar, OUAT. Candidates, claiming for such reservation
shall produce the original certificate (Annexure-IV) at the time of document verification and
admission, falling which his/her admission to the category seat will be denied. The selection will
be made on the basis of a separate merit list prepared from the weighted score for the category.
3.17.7 Sixty (60) seats are reserved for NRI/PIO sponsored candidates for admission into U.G. Courses
on cost sharing basis in different faculties such as College of Agriculture, Bhubaneswar
(25 seats), College of Agriculture, Chiplima (05 seats), College of Agriculture, Bhawanipatna
(05 seats), College of Horticulture, Chiplima (05 seats), College of Vety. Sc.& A.H., Bhubaneswar
(10 seats), College of Agril. Engg. & Tech., Bhubaneswar (05 seats), College of Fisheries,
Rangeilunda (05 seats) (Refer to clause 3.18).

How to apply
The interested pass out and continuing 2nd year students of Diploma in Agro-Polytechnic
courses of OUAT can apply online for admission into Under Graduate courses under
OUAT. The candidates can have access to the Application Form-A by visiting the website
www.ouat.nic.in then go to admission section and click on “Student login” for UG admission-
2020 or directly go to http://ouat-lokaseba-odisha.in. The candidate will log in providing
his/her e-mail ID, mobile number, OTP sent to the mobile number & e-mail and Captcha
code. After login, the candidate will land on a window showing “Apply”, clicking on it
application Form-A will appear and the candidate will fill up the application Form A. At the
time of submission of online application Form-A, the candidate has to fill in the particulars
such as correct Aadhaar / Aadhaar Enrolment number (optional), personal information etc.
and upload his/her recent passport size colour photograph (Height: 200px, width: 150px, file
size: 200kb maximum), full signature (Height: 100px, width: 150px, file size: 200kb
maximum) in jpg/jpeg format. After submission of online application Form-A, an application
number will be generated and sent to his/her mobile number & e-mail). The candidate
has to pay Rs. 1400.00 (Rupees one thousand four hundred only) as application
fees to the University besides bank charges as specified by the Bank depending
upon the mode of payment selected through online payment gateway using internet
Banking/Debit Card/Credit Card of any Bank. Once candidate successfully pays the
fee, he/she will receive a message confirming the acceptance of application in mobile
phone and e-mail. Fees, once paid, cannot be refunded under any circumstances. Without
payment of application fee, the Application Form-A will be rejected. Form-A is editable till
the last date of submission application. For details please refer to Annexure-I.
Registered mobile number and e-mail are always required to access his/her profile each
time with OTP sent to mobile number and e-mail. The candidates are advised to use
his/her application number for subsequent access.
The Admit Card has to be downloaded from OUAT website (www.ouat.nic.in) or from
http://ouat-lokaseba-odisha.in by logging and using the application number between
20.05.2020 to 31.05.2020 (9.00 a.m.). The candidate must bring the Admit card with
original identity proof (Clause 5.6) to the Examination Centre for verification.

The candidates are advised not to send any hard copy of the application and
documents to the University.
The selected candidates are advised to bring with him/her the downloaded application
Form-B along with original and self attested photocopies of all relevant documents
(as per the check list clause- 8.3) to the counseling for admission.
Other procedures, rules & regulations and fee structure shall be made applicable to them
as per provisions of the UG Prospectus 2020-21 which may be referred to. Any further
information in this regard will be made available in OUAT website from time to time
3.19 The ICAR/VCI nominated candidates / foreign candidates nominated by ICAR/ICCR or any
statutory body of Government of India, New Delhi through the Indian Embassy in their country are
not required to appear the OUAT UG Entrance Examination. They will be admitted as such
against the reserved seats subject to fulfilling the eligibility criteria as per Clause 2.1 & 3.
4. SELECTION PROCESS
4.1 There will be a COMMON ENTRANCE EXAMINATION for selection of the candidates for
admission into B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture, B.Sc.(Hons.) Horticulture, B.Sc.(Hons.) Forestry,
B.F.Sc., B.V.Sc. & A.H., B. Tech. (Agril. Engg.) and B.Sc. (Hons.) Community Science courses.
The candidates for admission will be selected solely on the basis of Merit (Weighted Score) which
is based on his/her academic career and performance in the Entrance Examination (See clause
No 4.3.3). If two or more candidates secure the same weighted score, the tie shall be resolved
and their merit positions will be decided on the basis of higher marks in the Entrance
Examination, percentage of +2 Science or its equivalent, percentage of HSC mark, higher
percentage of marks in PCB/PCM in that order.

The candidates seeking admission into B.Sc. (Hons.) Forestry Course should come
with a certificate of Physical Fitness (Annexure-VII) as issued by the Medical Officer
not below the rank of Asst. Surgeon within the prior period of 30 days with respect
to physical capacity as follows at the time of Admission.

Weighted score of candidates will be calculated on the basis of his/her academic career and
Entrance Examination as given below:
4.3.1 The H.S.C. marks and +2 Science/equivalent mark in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/
Biology (whichever is higher) will be taken in to account for calculation of weightage.
4.3.2 In case of candidates who have passed any of the examinations compartmentally, average marks
of the 1st and 2nd examinations will be taken for computation of the weighted score. Candidates
are advised to enter marks accordingly in Form-B.

4.3.3 Illustration for computation of weighted score
If a candidate has secured 58% marks in H.S.C./ equivalent, 67% marks in Physics, Chemistry
and Mathematics or Physics, Chemistry and Biology in +2 Science and 124 marks out of 200 in
the Entrance Test, his/her weighted score is 0.25X 58+0.25 X67+ 0.25X 124 =62.250. The
weighted score will be calculated up to three decimal numbers.
4.3.4 The students except B.V.Sc. & A.H Course of this University who will be detained in the
1st Semester of 1st year of any Undergraduate Courses due to shortage of attendance even
after appearing the mid-term examination shall have to appear at the entrance
examination again and compete with others for admission in the next academic session.
4.3.5 Any student of B.V.Sc. & A.H. who is detained before 1st professional year examination due to
shortage of attendance shall have to appear the entrance examination again and compete with
others for admission in the next academic session.
5. AVAILABILITY OF PROSPECTUS & SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION FORM-A
5.1 The prospectus for the Common Entrance Examination and Admission into Under
Graduate Programme 2020 - 21 is available in University website at www.ouat.nic.in. The
candidates desirous of applying for the Common Entrance Test for admission into Under
Graduate Courses under OUAT have to visit www.ouat.nic.in or
http://ouat-lokaseba-odisha.in.
Read the U.G. Prospectus 2020-21 carefully and follow the instructions there in while filling the
application form. The candidates can have access to the Application Form-A by visiting the
website www.ouat.nic.in then go to admission section and click on “Student login” for UG
Admission-2020” or directly go to http://ouat-lokaseba-odisha.in. The application Form-A is
editable till the last date of submission (26.03.2020). Candidates are advised to see the preview
before submission. The candidates has to pay the application fees of Rs. 1400/- (Rupees one
thousand four hundred) besides bank charges per application, without which the application will
not be considered. For detail please refer to Annexure-I.
After successful payment, the candidate should take printout of computer generated filled
in application Form-A with payment details for future reference.
N.B. :
1. The scanned photograph and full signature must be clearly identifiable & visible.
Otherwise, the application may be liable for rejection. No correspondence on this
account shall be entertained.
2. Candidates under Kashmir migrants, Kashmir pundits/Kashmir Hindus (Non migrant)
and J&K PMSSS quota are exempted from appearing the entrance examination.
3. The candidate who does not belong to above categories should not choose those
categories in Form-A. Admit card will not be available for them and they will be
debarred from appearing the entrance examination on 26.04.2020.
5.3 Candidates awaiting for their results of +2 Science examination are also eligible to apply for
appearing at the Common Entrance Examination - 2020 for admission into the U.G.
Courses, anticipating their success in the +2 Science Examination.
5.4 A candidate is required to submit only one application irrespective of number of U.G.
Courses for which he/she wishes to be considered for admission (as mentioned under
Clause-2).

5.5 The data obtained from the candidate while applying online will be used for the purpose of
generating Admit Card for Common Entrance Examination-2020. Hence, the applicants are
advised to submit data accurately as required while applying online. Candidates are
advised to apply online and pay the application fee before the due date.
• Hard copy of application in any form should not be sent to OUAT.
• The University will not be liable to refund the application fees deposited by the
candidate.
5.6 Download of Admit Card:
6.5 Candidates must bring with them a “BLACK BALL POINT PEN” for marking the answer on the
OMR Sheet.
6.6 The OMR sheet consists of 2 (two) copies, the original copy and candidate’s copy. Dot not
attempt to separate or displace them while answering. OMR sheets are to be folded at the
perforation to separate the original copy and candidate’s copy after the examination is over.

6.7 Candidates should handover the original answer sheet (OMR) to the invigilator before leaving the
examination hall and can carry the candidate’s copy of OMR and question Booklet with them.
6.8 Candidates should darken only 1(one) oval bubble for each question. No marks will be
awarded for multiple response/answer for a single question.
6.9 Any mistake in darkening the Roll No. bubble will lead to loss of identity of the candidate
and will be liable for rejection.
6.10 Rough work must not be done on the answer sheet (OMR), use rough sheets provided in the
question booklet.
6.11 No candidate can leave the examination hall before completion of the examination.
6.12 Candidates are not allowed to bring any papers, mobile phone, calculator and other electronic
gadgets to the Examination Hall.
6.13 The invigilators will take attendance on the attendance sheets in which the candidates shall have
to put their full signature against their corresponding roll number and also have to enter their
question booklet series (eg. A, B, C, D), answer sheet (OMR) number.
6.14 The candidates are advised to verify the question booklet /answer sheet (OMR) provided at
examination centre about its completeness before attempting to answer. In case any
mistake found, the candidates should immediately report to the invigilator and get a fresh
question booklet/answer sheet (OMR) issued after surrendering the defective one.
6.15 Candidate should write and darken clearly his/her roll number, subject code, booklet no., booklet
series and category in the place provided in answer sheet (OMR) for evaluation of the answer
sheet, otherwise his/her answer sheet will not be examined.
6.16 Disfiguring of Answer paper in any manner or putting any sign/ identification mark etc. will make
the answer paper (OMR) liable to rejection.
6.17 Adopting unfair means or indulging in any objectionable activities in the Entrance Examination
Hall will make the candidate liable to be debarred from the Entrance Examination.
6.18 The candidates are to obey instructions of the Centre Superintendent and Invigilators at the
Examination Centre.
6.19 The marks of the Entrance Examination, weighatage & rank card and allotment letter shall
be available in the OUAT Website i.e. www.ouat.nic.in or http://ouat-lokaseba-odisha.in
through login process.

The candidates are advised to fill up application Form-B within the stipulated date i.e.
21.05.2020 to 10.06.2020. Edit option for Form B will be active till the last date of submission
of Form B. For details refer Annexure-II.
N.B
• The application Form-B will be available online to those candidates who appear the
U.G. Entrance Examination on 26.04.2020 and also to those candidates of J&K
under PMSSS, Kashmiri Migrant, Kashmiri Pandit (Non Migrant) /Kashmiri Hindu
Families (Non Migrant) who have submitted Form–A.
• The candidates are advised not to send any hard copy of the application and
documents to the University.
• The candidate will click on a declaration that he/she will produce the relevant
documents in original from competent authority at the time of document verification
and admission, failing which the admission will be denied.
7.1 The candidates must submit correct marks of 10th and +2 Science / equivalent as
required in Application Form-B which is used to calculate weightage for preparation
of final merit list. Any wrong entry of marks in Form B, detected at the time of
document verification and admission, will lead to rejection of candidature and denial
of admission. So, candidates are advised to be careful in entering correct marks at the
time of submission of application Form–B. Candidates can edit Form B till the last date
of submission of application.
7.2 The ICAR/VCI nominees/Foreign candidates duly endorsed by Govt. of India/State Govt.
Sponsored Candidates to be admitted against reserved seats will pay the Application Fee
and fill up the application Form-B at the time of their admission.
8. ADMISSION
8.1 A common merit list & category wise merit list of the candidates will be prepared basing on the
weighted score (as under Clause - 4.3.3) for all the U.G. Courses listed under the
clause-2 of UG prospectus. Admission will be made through counseling to different U.G.
Courses / Colleges (Clause-3) strictly according to the merit subject to eligibility.
8.2 The detail of the process of admission will be notified later in OUAT website in due
course of time.
8.3 Candidates called for document verification and admission after allotment of seat are required
to produce the following documents before the admission board. The candidates have to
pay Rs. 500.00 as registration fee to participate in the counseling process.
N.B. 1. Without submission of above relevant documents in original at the time of document
verification and admission his/her candidature will be forfeited and admission will
be denied.
2. Mark sheet issued by the School and College shall not be accepted.

8.4 All the admitted candidates need to submit an affidavit, as per the UGC guideline on non
indulgence in ragging activities to their respective Deans / Directors / Associate Deans
within 15 days from the date of admission.
8.5 To prohibit any misconduct by any student or students, whether by words spoken or written or by
any act which has the effect of teasing, treating or handling a fresher with rudeness or any other
student, or indulging in rowdy or indiscipline activities by any student or students which causes or
is likely to cause annoyance, hardship or psychological harm or to raise fear or apprehension
thereof in any fresher or any other student or asking any student to do any act which such
student will not in the ordinary course do and which has the effect of causing or generating a
sense of shame, or torment or embarrassment so as to adversely affect the physique or psyche
of such fresher or any other student, with or without any intent to derive a sadistic pleasure or
showing off power, authority or superiority by a student over any fresher or any other student, and
thereby, to eliminate ragging in all its forms from University by prohibiting it under these
Regulations, preventing its occurrence and punishing those who indulge in ragging as provided
for in these Regulations and the appropriate law in force.
8.6 Candidates selected for admission if failed to submit their College Leaving Certificate /
Conduct Certificate may be provisionally allowed to take admission on submission of an
undertaking to submit the said documents within fifteen days following the date of
admission, failing which their provisional admission will be forfeited. The candidates
belonging to the University / Institutions of outside State will be allowed one month
following the date of admission under the same condition.
8.7 Candidates provisionally admitted into any of the U.G. Courses without submission of
Migration Certificate will have to submit the Migration Certificate before 1st Semester and
it is 1st professional year final exam in case of B.V.Sc. & A.H., failing which they will
not be allowed to appear the 1st Semester Examination (1st professional year Final
Examination for B.V.Sc.&A.H.).
8.8 The Sponsored Candidates of the State Government shall submit his / her relieve order
within a fortnight of admission at the latest, failing which his / her provisional admission
shall be treated as cancelled.
8.9 All the candidates admitted into any Under-Graduate Course shall submit a Medical
Fitness Certificate in the prescribed format (Annexure-V) from a Govt. Medical Officer/
Regd. medical practitioner not below the rank of Asst. Surgeon at the time of admission.

8.10 The original documents like CLC, Conduct Certificate and Migration Certificate submitted
by the candidates will not be returned to them under any circumstances.
8.11 Once the admission process is over, no change of course/ college will be allowed. This is
applicable to all admitted candidates including the Govt. sponsored candidates.
8.12 If a candidate is found to have indulged in ragging and expelled in the past or if he / she is
found to be indulged in ragging later, the admission will be cancelled or he/she will be
expelled from the University / College.
9 ACADEMIC SYSTEM
9.1 The minimum residential period for B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture, B.Sc. (Hons.) Horticulture,
B.Tech. (Agricultural Engineering), B.Sc. (Hons.) Forestry, B.F.Sc., B.Sc. (Hons.) Community
Science will be of four consecutive years, whereas it will be five & half consecutive years
including one year internship in case of B. V. Sc. & AH.
The instruction shall be offered in English under Course Credit System. For Course
Programme of each Degree, syllabus has been formulated for different courses carrying a
certain number of credit hours and spread over the number of semesters prescribed for that
course. An Academic year will have two semesters each having minimum 95 Net Instruction
Days (NID) except B.V.Sc & A.H. for which the annual NID is minimum 210.
The details of the method of Examination & Evaluation of students’ performance shall be
explained to the students at the time of “ORIENTATION PROGRAMME”. The Course
Programme shall be regulated as per U.G. Semester Regulation.
9.3. Attendance
A student is required to have a minimum of 85% of attendance in each course, failing which
he/she shall not be allowed to appear at the Final Examination and will be detained in that
semester, subject to Regulation to condone as indicated below.
The Dean/Associate Dean / Director, on the recommendation of the course teacher / advisor
concerned may condone shortage of attendance up to 15% in a course(s) in exceptional
circumstances and allow such students to appear at the Final Examination on payment of the
required fees. No condonation, even on medical ground, can be granted for shortage of
attendance below 70% under any circumstances.

Girls’ Hostel
After Admission into any College each student shall be required to apply to the Dean,
Students' Welfare (DSW) through respective Deans/Directors for accommodation into the
hostels located at Bhubaneswar. The students belonging to the College of Agriculture,
Chiplima, College of Horticulture, Chiplima, College of Agriculture, Bhawanipatna and College
of Fisheries, Rangeilunda shall apply to the Associate Dean concerned and Director, College
of Fisheries for their accommodation in hostel. However, if the parents / guardian are staying
at above mentioned places, the students may apply to Dean, Students' Welfare for permission
to stay outside the hostel.
University will not provide any parking space for the bikes and cars owned by the
students.
The University runs a Health Center with Ambulance facility at Bhubaneswar campus
managed by qualified and experienced Doctors. It provides free outdoor treatments to
students of the University in its Health Centre.
11. STUDENT ACTIVITIES
Each college will have a Students' Union of the college to organize cultural, literary and
athletic/ sports activities. Besides these the Students’ Union has a key role in promotion of
academic activities.
The Dean of Students' Welfare looks after the extracurricular activities of the students. The
University Employment Information and Guidance Bureau acts as a useful channel of
communication between the students and employment organizations.

12. STUDENT DISCIPLINE
A student, whether a boarder or day scholar, shall abide by the disciplinary rules and
regulations of the Hostel, College and University and shall not involve himself / herself in any
objectionable conduct such as violation of hostel discipline, disobedience of instructions of
hostel authorities, immoral conduct or disorderly behavior including "ragging". In case a
student is found to be involved in any of the said undesirable activities, he/she shall be liable
for expulsion from the hostel and if the offence is grave in nature, also from the college. The
expulsion from the hostel shall be ordered by the Dean of Students' Welfare with the
concurrence of the Dean/Director of the Faculty concerned and expulsion from the college
shall be under the orders of the Vice-Chancellor.
