With deepest gratitude and appreciation, We humbly give thanks to the people who, with all they

To our parents, for their unending love and support, for providing all our needs financially and
morally, for their patience and understanding during our tiring days that We can’t help them in
the chores, for their never fading advices and for being there for us no matter what.

To the institution where we are studying, Saint Tonis College, where We are continuously
growing as a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology students.

To all our teachers who shared and continuously sharing their knowledge with students like us
and keep on molding us into a better person. We are extending our warmest thanks especially to
Sir Ronald Wacas who, with all that he can, share with us everything that he knows.

To the High Intensity Computer Center employees, for their warm welcome to me. To our
Mentor, Sir Denmark Zalun and Sir Kiwi, and to the rest of the High Intensity Computer Center,
We are very grateful for having them as part of our On-the-Job Training. For all their advices
and for everything that they taught us during our stay with them and most of all, for the
memories we’ve shared – the happy moments, the sorrowful ones, the rush hours, the
brainstorming and nerve-wracking days and for everything that they did that contributed to our
growth as a human being. We thank them so much.

To our friends and co-trainees, for the happiness and for being there to support us and to comfort
us whenever we have difficulties during our training. We thank them for the friendship and
teamwork and for being our companions whom we can share our laughter and sorrows with.
Above all, to our Almighty God, for His unconditional love and for all the blessing He is
showering upon us each day of my life. With love and gratitude, we thank Him for guiding us
during our training and for making this On-the-Job Training a possible one. For the provision and
wisdom He has bestowed upon us, for keeping us and our love ones always safe, for giving us
enough knowledge and ability to perform each task that was assigned to us and for the challenges
He has given us that made us stronger than ever. We thank Him for His comfort during the times
that we are about to give up. By His grace, we were able to finish this training without any
conflict.

Most of all, we thank Him for His Word that keeps on reminding us that “I can do all things
through Christ which strengthened me.” (KJV) (Phil. 4:13)

INTRODUCTION

On-the-job Training is part of a college curriculum that aims to train and orient students
about the work and their future career. It is a type of skill development where a worker learns
how to do the work through hands-on experience. On the Job Training is one method by which
students are exposed with different work situation designed to give students an opportunity to
experience and a chance to apply the theories and computation that they have learned from the
school. It also helps the students to acquire relevant knowledge and skills by performing in actual
work setting.

OJT is very important not only to teach students regarding their chosen career but also to
show students the reality about working. The students will be exposed to the actual work related
to the course that they are taking. It also allows those with no experience to work and to learn at
the same time. On-the-Job Training helps the trainee to learn more about his chosen field and
practice what he has learned from the school. It helps in the building up of the trainee’s
competence. Of course, when a students is competent enough, he will be able to do things
successfully and. This training develops one’s professionalism in dealing with people. After the
training, the trainee will be able to handle situations properly and he/she will be able to know
how to socialize well with his colleagues. He/she will also be able to work well with everyone
and he’ll have a good teamwork. OJT also enhances the critical thinking abilities and discipline
of the student conducting his training in a company. His ability to make sound decisions and
evaluate pertinent factors will be improved.

Having a proper On-the-Job Training helps in the preparation of future professionals for
their future jobs. What the students learned in their On-the-Job Training, even the little things,
can be applied when they are already working. Students will be trained not only academically but
socially as well. The way they work and communicate with others will not be a problem for them
anymore. It also gives the trainee the chance to immerse himself in his chosen field and
experience and learn the skills necessary to the industry he is interested in. Working with
experienced staff, one will be able to observe how the job is done properly.

Aside from work experience, On-the-Job Training allows the trainee to get acquainted
with the real professionals and to meet people having different positions in the company, either
high or low. The trainee will be able to know how to adjust to other people’s personalities and
attitudes.
On-the-Job Training requires effort and seriousness. A trainee should take the OJT
seriously as it can be a powerful tool for a person in preparing for the next chapter of life as a
professional. It can possibly be a source of recommendation when they take that big lift from
being students to career professionals someday.

High Intensity Computer Center Ilagan City Branch where we were assigned to conduct
our On-the-Job Training. On our first day of training, we were very excited and somewhat
nervous because of the new environment and the new people surrounding us. We didn’t have any
idea of what kind of people they are and it made us adjust our self with their personalities and
attitudes.

Our Training Supervisor accompanied us to the company branch where we will be

staying during our On-the-Job Training. The first task that our Training Supervisor asked us to
do is to distribute the flyers of the company. Some may laugh at our first task which is to
distribute the flyers of the company, but they do not know that we’ve learned many things which
are related in our chosen course – Bachelor of Science in Information Technology. While we
were distributing the flyers, we realized that we had conquer our shyness when we were giving
the flyers to other people.

Our first week were really a good start and we were motivated to perform excellently
because of what we had already accomplished and because of our Supervisor who is very
accommodating and kind to us.

WEEK 9

This is our last week of On-the-Job Training and we still needed to finish and to perform
the tasks assigned to us. We first clean the shop and then installed a CIS to a Brother printer.
After that we repair two laptops that’s the first time we saw a laptop that is very big we were
amazed and proud that time that we repair a laptop that is alien to us.

The next day is the most crucial part of our On-the Job Training, we were happy because
we will finally finish our training but somehow sad because we will be leaving the shop where
we had lots of memories and we will be missing the people that became close to us for a period
of time.

Despite the sorrow of leaving them, we are still happy that once in our life, we met
people like them in our life who taught us things related to our chosen course, and most
importantly, they helped us to be the best that we can be. They are the ones who helped us in
molding ourselves to be the individual we are right now. They challenged our skills, abilities and
knowledge and gave us a chance to prove ourselves to them.

It is a very heartwarming thing to know that there are people who believe in us. We were
very grateful because we made them proud of what we had accomplished during our training and
they were very thankful for everything that we helped them with.
LEARNINGS

The training we have at High Intensity Computer Center is learning many experiences

each day. We were exposed in the actual work in HICC, became familiar with many things

especially those that are not taught in the school and learned how to use equipment that are

usually used in repairing. Aside from those things, we also learned to be more sociable and to

adjust ourselves in the environment where we are working at and who we are working with.

In more than 2 months we stay there, we learned many things not only those things that

are related to our course but also the things that molded us into the person we are right now. As

we were working as a trainee at HICC, we learned to become a hard-working person. The time to

finish the task assigned to us are important, but it is also important that we should do it correctly.

We learned to appreciate even the simplest lessons studied in school. We were able to realize the

importance of theories and formulas that were discussed in the school. Also, to understand that

everything that was taught in the school can be a tool that can be used in our future career,

because during our On-the-Job Training, the terms that we had learned from school were used in

the company where we were conducting our training, especially those terms related to

Information Technology. As we were conducting our training there, we also learned to follow the

instructions and to accept or admit our failure and should learn from it as what our Training

Managers said to us.

After the training, we realized that on-the-job training is not just a requirement to be

completed but it is an opportunity to show what skills, knowledge, and talents that we have and

also an opportunity to experience the feeling of being a professional already.

Aside from the experiences that we have relating to our course, this On-the-Job Training

allowed us to get acquainted with the employees of High Intensity Computer Center. During our

stay there as a trainee, they kept on encouraging and motivating us to study hard and to do our

best always.

We won’t forget our Training Managers who challenged not just our skills and abilities

but also our patience. They are a kind of person who wants everything to be done instantly and

correctly. They doesn’t like having doubts. We were always nervous whenever they call for our

help. But with that experience that we have with our Training Managers, we were so thankful to

them because they taught us to be more patient and to be confident of what we know is right and

not to have doubt about what we can do. Another person that I have learned something from is

the Computer Operator IV of our cluster. Whenever she asks me to do something, she always

keeps on saying that I should do things slowly but surely. She never pressured me to make haste

in doing the tasks that she has given me. All of the people I have worked with during my On-the-

Job Training are all very inspiring. They all left a piece of advice to me that I will surely keep in

my mind and in my heart for the rest of my life.

We really had a very meaningful and memorable On-the-job Training at High Intensity

Computer Center. Though we already finished working there as a trainee, we were looking

forward to working with them, not as a trainee anymore, but as one of their technician,

SOMEDAY.
CONCLUSION

Nothing beats experience as the perfect learning tool. This On-theJob Training served as

my stepping stone to pursue my dream to be a Certified Public Accountant someday. This

training gave me an inspiration to be more serious and focused in studying. I was encouraged to

do more efforts in my studies. Since I was given some ideas about the work of an auditor in the

company where I conducted my training, I am inspired to be like them someday.

Despite the short period of my training, it was still a very meaningful one. The training

enriched my confidence created a foundation of being a good employee someday. It caused a

very huge effect to me as a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy Student. I was really renewed. I

learned to be diplomatic in both action and words.

This training made me realize that it is really good to know what you’re doing, and to

love it. As a student, what I can do for now is to learn whatever I can in school, be inspired, love

the path I am taking, and do my best in everything I do, with a positive outlook in mind. I

realized that I should be more focused in school and do everything heartily and with all that I

can.

It is also very warm to the heart to know that you have accomplished something and even

warmer when there are people who are so proud of what you have done and I felt this feeling
during my Onthe-Job Training. It inspired me to be more determined and competitive in

everything that I do in my daily life as a student today and as a professional someday.

My On-the-Job Training is very helpful and will be very helpful to me as I continue to

take my journey as a fourth year student in the field of Accountancy. It really gave me a taste of

the real world – a glimpse of what lies ahead after I graduate.
