GCSE English Language Revision Checklist- 6th June (Paper 1) and 12th June (Paper 2)

Exam Practicalities I need to ask for Keep Revising Revised and

I know how long the two exams are.

I know how many questions there on


each paper and how long I should
spend on each question.

section and how many marks there
are for each question.

Paper 1 - Fiction I need to ask for Keep Revising Revised and

Q1 I know I need to read the extract,
then list four pieces of information
from a specific part of the text.
Q2 I know how to analyse language
in the language question including:
 Words and phrases
 Language features and
techniques
 Sentence forms
Q3 I know how to analyse structural
features from the extract including
VOSOF
Q4 I know how to make a judgement
about the extract based on a
statement I am given. I will agree
with the statement and if I am
feeling brave will disagree to a
certain extent.

Writing – Paper 1 I need to ask for Keep Revising Revised and

I know how to identify the PAF of the
question
I know I have a choice of two
questions which will be either
descriptive or narrative or both. One
of the questions will be linked to an
image.

narrative writing.
