One of the best restaurants to go to if you are looking to satisfy your craving for home-cooked style cooking is the
Razon’s Restaurant. The delicacies being served in Razon’s is packed with the most sought-after “pagmamahal”
ingredient which Filipinos always search for when it comes to food.
The Razons are known for their love of cooking and eating. All family occasions are centered
around food for there is nothing like food that brings family together.
The Razon sisters, who remained single, were said to be married to their passion of cooking.
Razon’s Halo-Halo & Palabok (Lug-lug) started in 1972 in a small town of Guagua in Pampanga. It
was from the ideas of the three spinster sisters named Severina, Elena & Virginia. Razon's store
started as a mini-stall or "refreshment parlor" at the Razon residence in L.M. subdivision in
Guagua. Originally the Halo-Halo & Lug-lug was only for the consumption of the large Razon
family. But the delicate, creamy, delicious taste of Razon’s Halo-Halo spread in the town of Guagua
and became a destination snack area in the province. The Halo-Halo consists only of 3 main
ingredients namely Macapuno, Saging, and Leche Flan. Critic says that the simple concoction is
the secret recipe for the taste and success of Razon’s Halo-Halo. And now, it is helm as the BEST
Halo-Halo in the country.
The restaurant expanded to Metro Manila in 2003 when it opened a branch at the Food
Court of Robinson’s Galleria. At present, there are 74 branches of Razon’s of Guagua
nationwide, and it also has stores outside the Philippines, including Dubai.
The three sisters personally trained their nieces on the secret of their recipe. These
nieces pursued their aunts’ passion for good food, and soon opened their own brands
that are now famous for their authentic Filipino desserts.
