In this essay I'll be discussing a few points on The Great Gatsby; On how it
relates to the American dream, the book's relevance today, how it connects
to todays lifestyles and if it's a classic.

The Great Gatsby by Scott Fitzgerald is a 1925 novel written

by American author Scott Fitzegerald. It's about the impossibility of recapturing
the past,
which initially became a failure.
A novel which perfectly descirbes how seekers of their own American Dream can
follow two paths, the morally honest
way, or the immoral dishonest way. The Great Gatsby shows how
the difference between being moral and immoral is very noticeable, as it is shown
through many of its major characters, especially Jay Gatsby and Nick Carraway, in
their
pursuit for the desirable American Dream. The set of ideals in which freedom
includes the opportunity for prosperity and success all
achieved through hard work anin a society with few barriers.

According to Sarah Churchwell she defined The Great Gatsby as the superiority of
imagination over reality which makes
it very difficult to dramatise well. Regulary named one of the greatest American
novels ever written.

although the novel ends with Nicks sad meditation on the lost promise of the
American Dream.
.

The American Dream is in all aspects the definition of growth

where one gains power over a period of time. A rise from
a little point to where one gains power, falls in love and becomes rich
over a period of time. Even though the American dream has several different
interpretations but it always has to do with self-reliance, and the
longing for a greater purpose.

In Chapter, Gatsby tells Nick the truth about how his less-than-wealthy past,
which not only makes him look like the star of a rags-to-riches story,
it makes Gatsby himself seem like someone in pursuit of the American Dream,
which he personifies that dream as Daisy.

In Chapter 6, we learn about Gatsbys less-than-wealthy past,

which not only makes him look like the star of a rags-to-riches story,
it makes Gatsby himself seem like someone in pursuit of the American Dream,
and for him the personification of that dream is Daisy.

The novel has all timeless elements of the American Dreameconomic possibility,
racial and religious diversity.
From the moment I read about Gatsby's lifestyle and his luxurious lifestyle, it
felt like anything can happen, even a happy ending.
However, the novel ends with Nicks sad meditation on the lost promise of the
American Dream.

Furthermore, The Great Gatsby is quite relevant to today. According to MC from

SincerelyMC he mentions that
The roars of the roaring twenties have faded and we dont find ourselves surrounded
by flapper girls and prohibition laws, but the questions about
humanity and the themes of wealth, close-mindedness, popularity, obsession with the
past, and ultimate selfishness still impact 21st-century society.
