    Interview Paper

    Each person’s faith journey can range from a very broad spectrum. There is no right or

    wrong belief to anything, it is simply just what that person values and follows. Sometimes being

    a controversial topic, it is still interesting to see where each person stands and how this came

    about. Each person lives a different life and contributes to their own faith journey. My dad is

    someone who has held his faith close to him, which is why his faith journey is a prime example

    of being shaped by his own life.

    Faith is something that my dad has always relied on to get him through the toughest

    times that life throws. He explained how God has a plan for all of us even though we may not

    know the purpose sometimes. My dad knows this very well. From a young age he was brought

    up with the importance of going to church. His mother made sure he was there every Sunday

    and not just there, but engaged in the Catholic Church. He learned to keep his faith in God and

    everything will be okay. His core beliefs centered from this. He has tradition Christian family

    values which have become stronger with kids and time. As he got older this became stronger

    and stronger. After explaining this he went through and talked about big events in his life which

    have played a big role in his faith journey as a person. Major ones included watching his mom

    and grandparents battle cancer and illness with faith. He explained how he saw that they were

    struggling and just putting their faith in God with the battle that they were fighting. They were
    people who he looked at and respected even more because of this. He believes that this was

    the last and most important lesson that each of them have ever taught him. He feels an even

    better connection because of this all. Through the difficult times that he had, faith became a

    constant in his life. His faith is how he got through the difficult times. Talking more about this,

    he explained how he sees so many people lost and often thinks how scary that must be. This is

    especially true through difficult times. He said that he also does his best to remember that this

    is a short window and a test to hopefully receive eternal victory over whatever battle he is in.

    My dad’s faith is something that has only gotten stronger as he grows older. Overall he sets an

    example for the family to keep relying on faith through good and bad times. Faith is the most

    important aspect to have in everything. He said to always remember that.

    Through interviewing my dad, it showed his faith journey which he continues to go

    through in his life. It is what has gotten him through difficult times and the ability to enjoy the

    good times. It showed the important people in his life and how his core beliefs have come to

    be. His Christian beliefs are very much devoted and reliant on every aspect of his life. Over time

    they have not necessarily changed but only have gotten stronger.
