INNOVATIVE
SUSPENSION DESIGNS

The new ADFS Series drive-axle suspension is a

good example of Holland’s leadership in providing
the bus industry with innovative suspension
designs. This non-torque reactive suspension
features an intregral Traverse Beam that absorbs
up to 85% of roll forces. Through this innovation,
the Traverse Beam actually protects the axle
connections and axle housing from excessive
torsional forces, providing longer service life for
these components. By using the Traverse Beam to
absorb the roll (torsional) forces, much like an
oversized anti-sway bar, the air springs can be
optimized for ride quality, rather than stiffened to
absorb roll forces like in most 4-spring “banana
beam” or ‘H’ frame style suspension designs.

2-SPRING

ADLSD SERIES
• Non-torque reactive design helps maintain proper pinion angle, important in short
driveshaft applications, to reduce unwanted driveline vibration and noise while helping
increase driveline component life.

• Combines exceptional ride quality with high roll stability through an integral Transverse
(anti-sway) Beam that absorbs up to 85% of roll forces, protecting the axle from stress
and allowing the use of softer “volumetric” air springs. The air springs feature increased
air capacity by incorporating an air reservior in the air spring pistons. This improves ride
quality without the need for an external air reservoir (such as a ping tank).

• Rubber bushed connections for extended service life and smooth ride. No routine
maintenance or lubrication is required.

• Shorter installed length allows more people and cargo space.

• New welded axle connection is stronger and lighter than comparable U-bolt style connections.

• Low installed cost.

AD SERIES
• Designed for maximum durability in challenging operational environments.

• Non-torque reactive design helps maintain proper pinion angle, important in short
driveshaft applications, to reduce unwanted driveline vibration and noise while helping
increase driveline component life.

• Rubber bushed connections for extended service life and a smooth ride. No routine
maintenance or lubrication is required.

• Integral Transverse Beam absorbs up to 85% of roll forces to provide optimum stability
while protecting the axle connection and axle housing from excessive stress.

• Bar-pin and through-pin style axle connections available.

SUSPENSIONS
4-SPRING

ADTB SERIES
• Wide air spring spacing for roll stability.

• Non-torque reactive design helps maintain proper pinion angle, important in short
driveshaft applications, to reduce unwanted driveline vibration and noise while helping
increase driveline component life.

• Adapts to both frame rail and monocoque type chassis constructions.

• Low mounting height.

ADFS SERIES
• Air springs located under frame rails for exceptional ride quality.

• Integral Transverse Beam absorbs up to 85% of roll (torsional) forces to provide optimum
stability while protecting the axle connections and axle housing from excessive stress.

• Non-torque reactive design helps maintain proper pinion angle, important in short
driveshaft applications, to reduce unwanted driveline vibration and noise while helping
increase driveline component life.

• Shorter installed length allows more people and cargo space.

• Lowers installed cost by eliminating the need for ‘outriggers’ to support the upper air
spring mounts.
STEER AXLE
SUSPENSIONS

ASB SERIES
• Designed for I-beam style steer axles in rear engine bus applications.

• Air springs are positioned directly between the axle and frame rail for optimum ride
quality and stability.

• Flexible Equalizing Beam (trailing arm) features secondary retaining strap and rubber
bushed pivot connection for reliability and long service life.

• Low installed cost.

IFS
INDEPENDENT FRONT SUSPENSION

• Wide spaced air springs provide exceptional roll stability.

• 50° wheel cut for tight vehicle turning radius.

• Dual height control valves.

• Integral steering gear eliminates frame mounted gear.

TAG AXLE
SUSPENSIONS

CA SERIES
• Non-steer/non-lift.

• Automatic air dump in reverse to minimize tire scrub.

• Compatible with 5˝ round, drop center axles, maximum 8˝ drop.

• Rubber bushed connections for extended service life and a smooth ride. No routine
maintenance or lubrication required.

• Low installed cost.
