STATEMENT ONE:   Plan of Study

Why have you chosen this specific course of study?

I have chosen this course in order to master specific technical and IT skills necessary for fieldwork
competencies such as innovation,

decision-making, strategic thinking, and organizational skills.

What aspects of the course do you find interesting and are most relevant to your career plans?

I find interesting aspects such as Information technology management, Programming, IT security and
governance, Biometrics, computer graphics

Why do you want to undertake this course in this specific institution and country?

South Africa is known as the world in one place, I believe South Africa is one of the most developed
countries in Africa with advanced infrastructure. The University of Johannesburg is without exception a
reputable and credible university within the African continent. I strongly

believe they will be able to deliver exactly what will enable me excellently achieve my future career
goals and objectives

How have your previous studies and experiences prepared you for this course?

I have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer science, which gives me a strong academic and
educational foundation for this course.

I believe that my strong academic experience, passion, and education make me a highly competitive
candidate for this program/course.

How does the course fit with your future career plans?

My primary goal in my career as an IT student is to develop first-rate level skills that will enable me to
provide IT solutions to complex problems

faces by organizations and companies at various levels within the IT industry. I feel that what this
program/course offers is a strong path towards those goals and I am excited about what this course has
to offer.

Describe the main challenge or problem that your work seeks to address

The main challenges and problems my work/study seek to address is underdevelopment, illiteracy, lack
of IT skills, unemployment, gender

inequality

How will your proposed study help you contribute towards a solution to this challenge?

The skills, experience, and knowledge I will obtain from my studies will be utilized to cure
unemployment rates, illiteracy and lack of IT skills in my communities. This can be done by providing
adequate training within organizations, IT industries and companies within my community in order to
contribute and add value citizens within my local community. This training will equip individuals with
cutting edge technical skills and experience. This training will as well empower youths within my
community to be equipped with the most relevant knowledge, skills, and expertise that will enable them
to solve real-life problems within organizations and companies within the IT industry in their country.
This will reduce unemployment rates and increase vibrant individuals ready to impact their communities
with high-level first-rate skills. Women also have

potentials within the IT field. So women must be balanced with the huge number of men that are in the
IT domain

How you will share the knowledge and skills gained when you return home.?

In order to share my knowledge and skills, I will become a mentor to individuals within schools,
universities, IT industries, organizations, and institutions. Most individuals in my home country have
potential but no support within the IT field. As a mentor, I will provide them the support they need, and
share the knowledge and skills I have acquired in order to help them achieve their career goals in IT.
Mentorship will as well enable me to gain a new perspective of my work in the IT field. Moreover, I will
write and publish articles online, journals in my area of expertise. I will as well train other citizens in my
home country in small and big settings usually by identifying and joining relevant professional
associations and organizations that will benefit from my knowledge and skills. I will as well set up a
training center purposed to train IT professionals within my field of expertise. The Internet has made
education very accessible, this will enable me to develop well-curated instructor-led online IT training
courses which will be accessible for self-paced learning/training to everyone via the Internet at anytime

How you will apply your new skills and qualifications when you return home.?

I will identify IT related problems in my community especially within small and medium size business
and bring strong lasting sustainable solutions using all the skills, knowledge and qualifications acquired.
In my home country Cameroon, we face a lot of bribery and corruption, therefore IT systems have to be
put in place by IT experts, in order to nullify the damages caused corruption within the government. As
earlier mentioned, the Skills acquired will play a vital role in solving illiteracy, unemployment and lack of
IT skills within my home country.
My short and medium-term career plans will involve getting employment and setting up a trainer center
in my home country
