Problem:
ECONOMIC – Low literacy rate and short life expectancy
POLITICAL – Political power is concentrated in the executive branch and widespread
corruption has scourged the country.

Why is CICM present in this country?

To establish and animate Christian communities where peace and hope are prominent
 By regularly offering the sacraments and showing the importance of daily prayer
 By taking part in the people's development and human promotion, in their will to take their
own responsibility, and in their struggle against all forms of injustice and oppression
To provide socio-educational resources for the young people in the parish.
 By aiding in the education of young people, offering help in reading, writing, and computer
skills — and for the latter, providing technological resources necessary for learning.
