This course deals with the introduction of Cisco Networking Academy Program to the students to undertake the networking field. The
course focuses on network terminology and protocols, local-area networks (LANs), wide-area networks (WANs) students are expected to
do Open System Interconnection (OSI) models, cabling, cabling tools, routers, router programming, Ethernet, Internet Protocol (IP)
addressing, and network standards.

VI. CORE VALUES

1. Manifest cooperative learning; sharing and integration of ideas among others.
2. Practice Installation and configure Cisco switches and routers in multiprotocol internetworks using LAN and WAN interfaces
3. Observe and acquire the skills necessary to plan and implement small networks supporting a range of applications.
4. Improve network performance and security
5. Perform entry-level tasks in the planning, design, installation, operation and troubleshooting of Ethernet, TCP/IP Networks.

VII. COURSE OBJECTIVES:

1. Explain network and explain what makes it in society.

2. Discuss and configure network operating system
3. Describe the LAN,WAN,MAN and the ethernet
4. Gain a through understanding of network protocols and communication
5. Familiarize and explain the OSI model.
6. Describe the Ethernet Protocols.
7. Describe how Network Layer Protocol works.
8. Describe how IP addressing works.
9. Identifying the use of Transport Layer, Application Layer and how to build a small network.
