5. MAN POWER
Adequate Skilled manpower shall be arranged for every activity.
6. SURFACE PREPARATION
The long term durability of Sikafloor flooring system is dependent upon the
adhesive bond achieved between the flooring material and substrate. It is
most important that the concrete substrate is correctly prepared prior to
application.
The concrete substrate should be free from contamination such as mortar,
paint splashes, oil, grease etc. Excessive laitance should be removed by light
mechanical grinding followed by vacuum cleaning.
Existing epoxy coating (if any) must be removed manually. Wherever the
bonding of epoxy is intact, removal of existing coating, if required, must be
done by scarification process.
7. APPLICATION OF PRIMER
The substrate should be primed with Sikafloor 161 HC, a solvent free
resin based primer. The primer is a two component material consisting of
Component A and Component B. The primer should be mixed thoroughly
with a mechanical mixer to get a homogeneous consistency mix. Apply the
mixed material onto the prepared concrete substrate and allow the primer to
dry completely for 24hrs.
9. JOINT TREATMENT
The construction joints should be opened in a v grove and filled with epoxy
mortar. The same should be kept in the scope of the applicator.
Expansion joint (if any) should be treated separately using sikaflex sealant.
10. SAFETY
Make sure that the workers involved in the installation of the epoxy resin floor
coating are experienced and well trained, must wear Safety Helmet ,Gloves,
Footwear, Hearing Protection, Eye Protection
.
