The Rise Model

● Elevate: Raise to a higher degree or purpose in FUTURE iterations

○ How will you approach similar situations in the future?

The communication unit was very challenging for me. I had a hard time

submitting assignments on time and gave up on several projects. In the future, I

will approach this type of work with a more positive attitude and an open mind.

○ How does this inform your personal and professional goals?

This unit can help me in my future profession. I am going into Elementary

Education which means I will have to entertain my students and bring in new

ideas to my classroom. Podcasts would be a fun project to complete in class for

my students. I can also use this idea to present new information to my kids. I

could use fun sound effects and jokes to make the content more fun.

● Suggest: Introduce ideas for improvement of the CURRENT iteration

○ How could you improve your performance or contribution?

I can improve my performance by taking more time to complete projects. I have a

habit of procrastinating which causes my work to be lesser than it could be if I

had more time. For the next unit I will use my time more wisely.

○ What if you had more time?


If I had more time for these assignments I would add more elements to make them

seem as though I put all of my effort into them. If I had more time I believe I

would perform much better.

● Inquire: Seek information and provide ideas through questioning

○ What do you need to revisit to master the material?

I need to revisit the Tech Message assignment in this module. I must improve my

charting and graphing skills which are lacking. This will not only help me for

future assignments but in my career later down the road.

○ What resources are available to you?

I have a multitude of sources available to use. I could use the various videos on

youtube to learn how to correctly use Excel and practice this on my own. I also

have the course material that I can use to revisit in order to master the material.

● Reflect: Recall, ponder, and articulate

○ How did your attitude, logic, and behaviors influence your performance or

contribution?

I had a negative attitude during this module. This caused me to slack off and

procrastinate all of the important assignments that needed to be done. I waited

until the last minute and gave up due to my negative attitude towards this module.

○ What worked?
Sitting in a quiet place at a desk instead of my bed worked the best for me. Setting

a timer for breaks also helped me to stay on track without feeling burned out. For

the next module, I am planning on doing the same routine.

○ What didn’t?

The first thing that did not work for me was procrastinating. When I wait till the

last minute I do not put in my best effort and I oftentimes give up. Another thing

that did not work for me was doing assignments in my bed. I was easily distracted

and I got little done. I will avoid these two routines in the next module.
