Since I was a child, my parents saw my passion in music. My father loves music
very much. So before I born, he bought an organ for me and he hoped that I would
be a musician. When I was in kindergarten, I started my first organ private lesson.
My private teacher and my parents saw that I have a talent in music and my parents
decided to bought a piano for me when I was 11 years old. My parents 100%
support me to become a musician. But I decided that become a teacher is my career
goals.
In my home country, I struggled to find a good and talented teacher. For me, I need
many years to find a teacher who have a good knowledge about how to teach and
also have a good skill. I saw that many teacher in Indonesia not realize that a
knowledge about how to teach their students is very important for their career. I
often find someone who can play a piano think that they also can be a teacher too.
It’s possible but they have to know the basic of music education first.
With that background, I’m determined to be a teacher. I hope after I study in
Mahidol University with a professional lecture, my knowledge about music
education will increase and I know how to teach properly so my future students
can understand me. I also hope I can find a fun and easy method how to play
music, especially piano. I want to encourage people that music is necessary and I
know that is not easy but music has many benefits so it has to be part of their life.
I joined many competitions, piano masterclass, and concerts. I passed with
distinction score on ABRSM grade 5 examination in Music Theory and Music
Performance. I won many competition and the biggest competition that I had
joined is from SEGi College Malaysia. In my 17 th birthday, I held my own concert
in IFI-LIP Yogyakarta with the title “Sweet Seventone”. So far, held my own
concert is my biggest achievement. I know that on my age, I still need to explore
more about music. I’m a hard worker. Sometimes I make a song and posted it on
my instagram. I also really enjoy my time when I play piano. I often connect my
personal experiences with the pieces that I play so I feel more confident to tell the
messages from the pieces.
But I decided that become a teacher is my career goals.
I realize that music needs to be taught properly and also with the right person so
people who learn and listen to what instrument we play can get the messages from
the music itself. I saw that in my home country, many teachers did not realize it. So
I have a motivation to become a good and talented teacher.
Since I learned to play piano and organ, I loved music. I loved it not only the way
it relaxed me and help me to decrease my stress, but also the way music changes
people.
I realize that music needs to be taught properly and also with the right person so
people who learn and listen to what instrument we play can get the messages from
the music itself. For these 2 years, I have a very nice and smart private teacher for
my piano lesson. She taught me a lot about how to play piano properly and how to
find a way to enjoy the pieces that I play. I have to connect the pieces with my
personal experiences so I can feel what the song wants to convey.
