The Emmedi scanning solution incorporating 4Cheque and Fujitsu’s fi-7160 scanner
has been developed to revolutionise the way both the back office and teller functions
of a bank operate. fi-7160-4Cheque offers the ability to interface directly with the
bank’s interface and seamlessly process a variety of documents from cheques to post
and customer ID. fi-7160-4Cheque can help raise office efficiency, reduce operational
and maintenance costs, offer increased flexibility whilst ensuring the streamlining of
bank processes such as the waiting time at the teller station, reduction of errors and
subsequent checking which in turn can lead to increased customer satisfaction.

Best-in-class for cost/performance

With duplex scanning capability, the fi-7160 scans colour A4 documents at
a speed of 60 ppm / 120 ipm (all speeds A4 Portrait 200 / 300 dpi), offering
unrivalled cost-performance. The Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) offers
a capacity of 80 sheets and ensures the continuous feeding of mixed batches
of documents with different weights and sizes. The fi-7160 offers resolutions
from 50 to 600 dpi, with a USB 3.0 interface. Expected daily volume is about
4,000 sheets. This solution enables the digitisation of large volumes of paper
in a very short time. The fi-7160 is equipped with a liquid crystal display (LCD). The
LCD is located within the operating panel to display useful information including
current settings for scanning documents, the number of sheets scanned, and
error status. Users know the scanner status in the blink of an eye and can easily
select and initiate predefined scanning profiles.

Excellent function of ADF

The fi-7160 realises exceptional reliability and supports a wide range of paper weights, the fi-7160 incorporates brake roller technology
that is one of the most advanced paper separation technologies. The fi-7160 is designed with a virtually straight paper path that facilitates
smooth and jam-free paper feedability. It is an efficient mechanism that can minimise the stress on a sheet of paper. An ultrasonic multifeed
sensor detects whenever two or more documents have been simultaneously fed into the fi-7160, regardless of document weight, size or
colour. It is also equipped with a paper protection function, which allows you to scan fragile documents without any worries.

fi-7160-4Cheque is equipped with “iSOP” and “skew reducer”. iSOP (Intelligent Sonic Paper Protection) reduces the risk of having
documents damaged by sensing the audible noise of paper movements and stopping the feeding of sheets when an irregular noise
is encountered. Should you be scanning mixed batches of differing thicknesses of documents then the “Skew Reducer” reduces the
physical skew that documents encounter through the paper path ensuring that each document is captured with the utmost precision and
simplicity. This advanced Paper Protection feature reliably reduces the risk of damaging documents during scanning, and skew reducer
ensures total coverage for every scan: no lost data on the edges or in the corners, no more rescans.

The fi-7160 is able to scan various types of documents and materials in any size (A8-A4), from ultra-thin paper (27 g/m2) to plastic cards
1.4 mm thick. It can feed simultaneously up to 3 cards, even embossed ones, both vertically and horizontally. The fi-7160 also supports
extra long documents up to 5,588 mm. Using the Carrier Sheet option, it can also scan documents of A3 size through the ADF.
Auto Colour Detection, Page Size Detection and De-skew
The fi-7160 offers fully integrated and automated functions for image processing. This provides higher efficiency in digitisation, thanks
to simultaneous high-speed scanning and image processing. The Auto Colour Detection function automatically identifies the colour of a
document, and chooses the best colour mode for the document. The Auto Page Size Detection function ensures the capture and display
of the exact size of the scanned document in the case of scanning mixed batches of different sizes, while the Automatic De-skew
function realigns the scanned image when documents are skewed.

world, fi-7160. The decoding function in the software demonstrates outstanding performance and reliability, cultivated during more than

Fujitsu PaperStream IP
Built on TWAIN / ISIS standards, PaperStream IP is the scanner driver for Fujitsu fi Series image scanners. With its advanced black and
white and colour processing, a range of documents can be automatically and easily converted into image data suitable for complex post
capture processing, which can help produce highly accurate OCR results.

Fujitsu PaperStream Capture

PaperStream Capture enhances the data capture process from adjusting scanning settings to performing batch scanning, verifying
data and releasing to directories, repositories or subsequent process routines. Users can complete data capture tasks easily with
the extremely user-friendly graphical user interface (GUI). Moving scanned batches into a queue for later retrieval is possible as well.
Seamless linkage with PaperStream IP provides for high quality image processing and simplified batch scanning operation at the same
time.
