    Recorded Notes Of Discussions Between M/s. BHEL & M/s.

    GDPA
    On 14th Jan. 2011 At M/s. GDPA, Kolkata

    1) With reference BHEL’s P.O. Nos. 4000012443, 4000012439 and


    4000030432 on M/s. GDPA, for supply of Ball Valves, Butterfly Valves and
    SDSL Valves, the Production & Delivery Schedule was discussed.

    2) M/s. GDPA pointed out that Type Test for Actuator Q100 has been
    completed at M/s. NSTL, Vizag, except for EMI EMC Test. However, they
    are unable to get the Actuator back to Kolkata for carrying out EMI/EMC
    Test, since M/s. QAE(WE) wanted to witness the Type Test. Hence M/s.
    GDPA requested BHEL to talk to QAE(WE) in this regard.
    BHEL spoke to Cdr. L.D. Sharma, OIC – QAE(WE), and explained that the
    Type Test was carried out at M/s. NSTL which is also a Naval
    Organisation and requested QAE(WE) for allowing the Actuator to be
    brought back to Kolkata for EMI/EMC Test. Cdr. L.D. Sharma obliged to
    BHEL’s requested and agreed for bringing back the Actuator for to
    Kolkata for EMI/EMC Test.
    However, Cdr. L.D. Sharma stated that they have follow the QAP for
    manufacture of Actuator.
    M/s. GDPA requested BHEL to take-up this issue with M/s. MDL & Indian
    Navy, since this will affect the manufacture and delivery of Actuators.

    3) M/s. GDPA requested BHEL to talk to M/s. Rotork, Kolkata for early
    delivery of Actuators. BHEL requested M/s. Rotork to deliver the
    Actuators to M/s. GDPA before mid March 2011. M/s. Rotork stated that
    the manufacturing facility at Chennai is temporarily closed and is
    currently being done at Bangalore. M/s. Rotork will revert back with in a
    few days.

    4) M/s. GDPA mentioned that the Casting of 8 nos. of Butterfly Valves will
    be carried out on 14th Jan. 2011 in the presence of QAE(WE), Kolkata
    reps. M/s. GDPA also stated that the 12 nos. of Butterfly Valve will be
    ready for dispatch by end March 2011.
    BHEL requested M/s. GDPA for dispatch to M/s. MDL by mid March 2011.
    M/s. GDPA obliged to BHEL’s request and agreed for dispatch to M/s.
    MDL by mid March 2011.

    5) M/s. GDPA mentioned that all the 4 types of Ball Valves will be ready by
    end April 2011.
    BHEL requested M/s. GDPA for dispatch of Ball Valves also to M/s. MDL
    by mid March 2011.
    M/s. GDPA assured to put their best efforts for dispatch by end March
    2011.

    6) Regarding SDSL Valves, M/s. GDPA mentioned that the revised Drawings
    were submitted for approval and manufacturing can only start after
    approval of drawings. It stated that the approximate time taken for
    manufacture is about 6 weeks.
    BHEL once again requested M/s. GDPA for dispatch of SDSL Valves also to
    M/s. MDL by mid March 2011. BHEL further stated that there is been
    tremendous pressure from M/s. MDL and Indian Navy for the delivery of
    Valves, since the SDSL Valves have to be installed onboard ship during
    dry docking and the ship is currently at M/s. MDL for dry docking for the
    2nd time.
    M/s. GDPA stated that the manufacture of Valves is long and time
    consuming process, since it involves stage inspection by M/s. QAE(WE).
    However, M/s. GDPA assured to put their best efforts for dispatch by end
    March 2011.

    7) BHEL brought out that BHEL’s delivery to M/s. MDL is end March 2011,
    and dispatch of BHEL’s equipments are held-up only due to delivery of
    RC Valves. Hence, requested M/s. GDPA to dispatch all the RC Valves
    with Actuators before mid March 2011.
