Comprehension

A comprehension test is based on a short passage or article.


You will be asked to answer the comprehension questions
has to understand and grasp the meaning of the passage or
article. The understanding power and level of the student is
evaluated in a comprehension test. Hence it is important for
students to read the comprehension carefully first and then
only answer the questions. The passage or article has to be
understood perfectly well before questions are answered.

A précis is a clear, compact logical summary of a passage.


It preserves only the essential ideas of the original.
Rules of Precis Writing:

Paragraph Writing Instructor: Aamir Mahar
A paragraph is often defined as a group of related
sentences about a single topic. The sentences of a
paragraph explain the writer’s main idea about the topic.
A paragraph often is between five and ten sentences long.
A paragraph is most often a part of a longer composition
comprising of several paragraphs.
A paragraph has three parts:
Topic sentence
Supporting details / Supporting sentences
Closing Sentence / Concluding sentence
Essay Writing

The word essay means 'an attempt'. It is an attempt to


compose one‘s thoughts so as to present them in a logically
coherent structure and sequence.
