Crime percentages have dropped in the capital as Covid-19 has kept individuals inside, with
murder cases falling by 66 percent. Besides, as the counter medication drives of the law
authorization offices have nearly stopped now, the quantity of drug-related cases has likewise
descended drastically. However, the tenant-landlord dispute intensified during this crisis, as
indicated by records from last year to the first four months of this year of eight criminal units
at 50 police stations in the Dhaka Metropolitan Police. We also noticed that not only has the
crime rate dropped in the metropolitan area of Dhaka, but also that the number of recipient’s
service at the police station has dropped around Bangladesh. No one comes to the police
station unless it is urgent. since measures have been put in place to slow the spread of the
virus, people stay at home. And financial transactions and interest-related activities don't
happen as usual. However, conflicts between landlords and tenants have increased.
Investigations into altercations between owners and tenants have shown that both parties are
to blame in some cases. There were 269 murders in Dhaka last year and in the first four
months of this year. So there were 18 murders on average each month. But in April of this
year, only six murders were reported. Usually, 60-70 cases are recorded at the police station
ever month. The number of recorded cases in March was 50, of which only two were
recorded in last the 10 days. No incidents of rape, gang rape, theft, assault or other petty
crimes have been recorded at the Pallabi police station since March 26, said the police
officer. But domestic valance has increased in the lockdown period. Most of the people has
no job so they are frustrated with their financial condition and that cause the domestic
violence. Women, who have been victims of domestic violence for the first time, blame the
locking of their situation. They say their husbands are increasingly frustrated at home due to a
lack of social interaction. Men are angry about losing their jobs due to the COVID-19
lockdown. Some are venting their frustration by torturing their wives. The MJF talked with
somewhere in the range of 17,000 woman’s and children for the overview, which uncovered
that 848 ladies were tormented truly, 2,008 intellectually, 85 explicitly, and nearly 1,308
confronted money related limitations from their spouses. The review additionally said that
four ladies were assaulted, one slaughtered, and 20 ladies were explicitly ambushed by
individuals not identified with them in April. The coronavirus lockdown has pressed these
families. A few guardians chose to offer their underage little girls to decrease the burden.
During this pandemic situation cybercrime gas also increased. Since mid-March 2020, the
authorities have apparently arrested at least a dozen people, including a doctor, opposition
activists, and students, for their comments about coronavirus in social media, most of them
under the draconian Digital Security Act. The Information Ministry announced that it has
formed a unit to monitor social media and various television outlets for “rumours” about
COVID-19 cases. Various individuals have been confined for web-based life posts. On
March 24, the police purportedly captured two men, Shahidul Islam Russel and Abdul Ahad,
and recorded a body of evidence against a third in Feni all under the Digital Security Act,
clearly for spreading bits of gossip on Facebook that a cop had contracted COVID-19. On
March 22, the Detective Branch apparently captured two understudies, Sohel Sheik Hridoy
and Anam Sheik, in Pirojpur for "spreading bits of gossip" about the Coronavirus on
Facebook. On March 19, the Rapid Action Battalion supposedly captured Meraz al-Sadi in

Khulna for "spreading bits of gossip through Facebook posts containing hostile publicity and
different statements on coronavirus."
In overall we can say that, during the lockdown period for covid-19 pandemic crime has fall
in a record rate. During the lockdown period people stays at home also the police surveillance
has been so hard that criminals cannot think about any crime. Most city inhabitants follow
government order to remain at home, leaving less casualties in the city, no people outside
home no crime. But that ca go for the robbery. Same when a street snatcher cannot rob a
person on street he can break down onto houses and also cause a bigger problem. So govt
should look after this fact and give them financial support.
