2. Teacher asks the pupils to talk about the pictures.
3. Teacher asks the pupils to talk about water cuts and floods with
teacher’s guide.
4. Teacher asks the pupils to listen and repeat the chant.
5. Pupils recite the chant in correct pronunciation, rhythm and
intonation. Individual work
6. Pupils write the chant in their writing book.

Activities 1. Teacher introduces the phonemes /ju/ for ew and / / for oe by


showing the graphemes on the word cards.
2. Teacher asks the pupils to say the sound ‘ew’ and ‘oe’
3. Teacher shows some word cards and asks the pupils to blend the
words and read them aloud.
4. Teacher asks pupils to segment the words and spell them.
e.g: dew, few, new, doe, foe, hoe
5. Teacher ask pupils to read a text with the words using ‘ew’ and
‘oe’ sounds. Individual work
5. Pupils write the words and text in their writing book.
