SENDING A WESTERN UNION MONEY TRANSFER® TO BANK ACCOUNT/Money to Account
- Step-by-Step
This guide is designed for use by Western Union® Agents around the world and will demonstrate the basic steps of the
application. Certain screen views, however, may vary slightly or be unavailable in your application based upon your
Agent location, geographic location, or language.
Click the “SEND MONEY” button or press the “F5” key.
• Complete all red star required fields.
• Complete the Sender’s first and last name.
• Enter one of the following to price the transaction:
—— Amount to send.
—— Total amount.
• Complete the Transfer Information fields.
—— Click on the links in this section to apply a
promotion code if needed.

• Select the type of service the consumer wishes to


use for this transaction from the Delivery Services
field. Note that this is the field where you would
select the Money to Account service.
• For the To Bank Account/Money to Account service
enter the appropriate details.
• In the Instant Notification fields, you must have the
consent of the Sender before you enter their mobile
phone number. Please ask the Sender, “Do you
consent to providing your mobile phone number in
order to receive SMS notifications on the status of
this transaction? Standard fees apply.”

Complete the Sender details.


• Enter the Sender’s ID DETAILS in the appropriate
fields based upon the amount (over $1,000 and
$3,000 including fees requires different levels of ID
presentation).
• Complete the Receiver’s first and last name.
• Refer to the Transaction Summary box located on
the left side of the screen to check the transaction
details.
• View the related COUNTRY INFORMATION by
clicking the “View country information” link.
• Click the “Send Money” button to continue.

The Confirm transfer pop up screen appears:


• Check the transaction details on this screen and
if everything is correct, collect the funds from the
consumer and place the money in a secure area.
• Click “Confirm” to confirm the transaction.
• Click the “Cancel” link if you need to correct any
information.

When the Transaction Completed screen appears, click


the “Click here to view and print receipt” link.

Click the “Print receipt” button to print the receipt.


• Choose the correct printer set up in the browser’s
print dialog box. Note: The type of printed receipt
varies depending upon your Agent location setup.
• The receipt contains “CUSTOMER RECEIPT” and
“AGENT RECEIPT” sections.
• Ensure that the Agent FLA and the consumer sign
the Customer and Agent sections of the receipt.
• Circle the MTCN and any promotion code and give
the consumer their copy of the receipt.
• Retain the Agent copy of the receipt for the required
time period required by policy.

Click the “Close receipt” button to return to the


application.
