SECTION - I
1. a) Draw a rectangular hyperbola when the position of a point P on the curve is at a distance of
30 mm and 50 mm from two asymptotes. [7M]
b) Construct a diagonal scale showing hectometer, decameter and meter, in which a 1cm long
line represents 50 m and long enough to measure up to 1 km. Find R.F. and a mark a distance
of 5 hm 3 dm 7m on it. [8M]

2. A circle having a 40 mm diameter rolls on a circle with a 75 mm diameter. Trace the path of a point
lying on the circumference of the rolling circle, when the rolling circle moves outside the outer circle.
Name the curve. Also, draw a tangent and a normal to the curve at 100 mm from the center of bigger
circle. [15M]
SECTION – II
3. a) A point at 25 mm above the reference line xy is the front view of the two points A and B.
The top view of A is 40 mm behind the V.P and the top views of B is 50 mm in front of V.P.
Draw the projections of the points and state their positions relative to the planes of projection
and the quadrant in which they lie. [5M]
b) A 70 mm long line is inclined at 30° to the H.P. The H.T. of the line lies 15mm below the
reference line and V.T. of the line does not exist. Draw its projections when an end of the line
is 25 mm above the H.P. [10M]

4. Draw the projections of the following points on a common reference line keeping the distance
between their projectors 30 mm apart. [14M]
(a) Point A is 20 mm below the H.P and 50 mm in front of the V.P
(b) Point B is in the H.P and 40 mm behind the V.P.
(c) Point C is 30 mm in front of the V.P and in the H.P
(d) Point D is 50 mm above the H.P and 30 mm behind the V.P
(e) Point E is 20 mm below the H.P and 50 mm behind the V.P [15M]

5. A hexagonal plane with a 30 mm side has a corner on the H.P., with its surface inclined at 45°
to the H.P. Draw its projections when (a) the top view of the diagonal through the corner on
H.P. is inclined at 30° with the V.P., and (b) the diagonal through the corner on H.P. is
inclined at 30° with the V.P. [15M]

6. A cone, having a base with 50 mm diameter and a 70 mm long axis, is resting on one of the
generators on the ground and is inclined at 30° to the V.P. Draw its projections when the apex
is nearer to the V.P. than to the base. [15M]

7. a) Draw an isometric view of a hexagon with 40 mm sides such that its surface is parallel to
H.P. and a side parallel to V.P. [5M]
b) Draw an isometric view of a hexagonal prism having a base with a 30 mm side and 70 mm
long axis resting on its base on the H.P. [10M]

8. Draw isometric projection of a frustum of a sphere with a 60 mm diameter, frustum circle with

SECTION - I
1. a) Draw a regular pentagon having 40mm long sides, using general method. [ 5M ]
b) Draw an ellipse when the distance of its focus from the directrix is 60mm and eccentricity is
3/5. Also, draw a tangent and normal to the ellipse at a point distant 100mm away from the
directrix. [10M]

2. A circus man rides on a motor cycle inside a globe having a 6 m diameter. The motor cycle
wheel is 1 m in diameter. Draw the locus of a point lying on the circumference of the wheel of
the motor cycle for one complete run. [15M]
SECTION – II
3. a) A point A is 40 mm above H.P and 25 mm in front of V.P. Another point B is 20 mm behind
V.P and 30 mm below H.P. The horizontal distance between the points is 100. Draw the
projections of the points A and B and join their front views and top views.[5M]
b) A line inclined at 60° to the V.P has a 60 mm long line. One end of the line is 20 mm in
front of the V.P. The line is 15 mm above the reference line. Draw its projections. [10M]

4. A 120 mm long line PQ has its ends P and Q 10 mm and 60 mm below the H.P., respectively.
The end projectors are 50 mm apart. The mid-point of PQ is 60 mm in front of the V.P. Draw
the projections and find the angles with both the reference planes.[15M]

5. A thin circular lamina with a 70 mm diameter. Draw its projections. It is inclined at 30° to the
H.P., while the other is inclined at 45° to the V.P. [15M]

6. A hexagonal prism, having base with 30 mm side and a 70 mm long axis, is resting on one of
the edges of its base in the H.P. such that the edge makes 60° with the V.P. and the base
makes an angle of 60° with the H.P. Draw its projections. [15M]

7. Draw an isometric view of a pentagonal pyramid having a base with a 30 mm side and a 50
mm long axis (a) when its axis is vertical and (b) when its axis is horizontal. [15M]

8. The frustum of a cone with a 60 mm base diameter, 40 mm top diameter and 50 mm height is
surmounted centrally over a cylindrical block with a 80 mm diameter and 30 mm thickness.

SECTION-I
1 Draw a hyperbola when the distance of its focus from the directrix as 50 mm and [14M]
eccentricity is 3/2 also draw the tangent and normal to the curve at a point 25 mm
from the directrix.

2 Draw the vernier scale of R.F = 1/20 to read centimeters up to 3m and on it show [14M]
length representing 2.39 m and 0.58 m.

4 A line AB of 70 mm long has its end A at 10 mm above H.P and 15 mm in front of V.P. [14M]
Its front view and Top view measure 50 mm and 60 mm respectively. Draw the
projections of the line and determine its inclinations with H.P and V.P.
SECTION-III
5 A circular plate of 60 mm diameter resting on HP on a point of its circumference with [14M]
its surface inclined at 300 to the HP. Draw the projections of the plane.

6 Draw the projections of a pentagonal prism of base 25 mm side and axis 50 mm long, [14M]
when it is resting on one of its rectangular faces on H.P. The axis of the solid is inclined
at 450 to V.P

7 Draw the isometric view of a hexagonal prism, with side of base 25 mm and axis 60 mm [14M]

5 A circular plane with an 80mm diameter has one of the ends of the diameter in the [14M]
HP. The surface of plane is inclined at 300 to the HP and end containing diameter
is 600 to the VP. Draw its projections.

6 A hexagonal pyramid having a base with a 30mm side and 80mm long axis, is [14M]
freely suspended from one of the corners of the base. Draw its projections when its
axis is parallel to the VP

7 Draw an isometric view of the frustum of a hexagonal pyramid having 35mm base [14M]
side, 20mm topside and 80mm long axis, is resting on its base on the HP with an
edge of the base parallel to the VP.

8 A Sphere of radius 50 mm is kept centrally over a frustum of square pyramid of [14M]
side 120 mm at the bottom, 80 mm at the top, and having a height of 100 mm.

1 The vertex of a hyperbola is 60 mm from its focus. Draw the curve when [14M]
eccentricity is 3/2. Draw a tangent and normal to the curve at a point 70mm from
the directrix.

2 A room area 36 Sq.m. is shown on the house plan as 81 Sq.cm. Construct a scale [14M]
long enough to measure 9 meters and mark a distance of 8 m 4 dm on the scale.

it. Draw the projections when one of its sides is (i) perpendicular to V.P, (ii) parallel to
V.P and (iii) inclined to V.P at an angle of 450.

6 a) Draw the projections of A Triangular pyramid base in VP and an edge of the base [14M]
inclined at 50° to the HP. The apex being 50 mm above HP. Taking a side of the base 35
mm long and the axis 70 mm long.
b) Draw the projections of A square prism axis perpendicular to VP with one of the
rectangular faces making 60° with HP and axis 50 mm above HP.

3 (a) Draw the projections on a common reference line for (i) Point P [6M]
when it is 30 mm below HP and in the VP (ii) Point Q when it is
45 mm above HP and 20 mm behind the VP (iii) Point R which is
in both HP and VP.
(b) The front view of a 80 mm long line AB measures 50 mm. The
line lies in the HP such that one end A is 30 mm in front of VP.
Draw the projections of the line and find its inclination with VP.

4 A 90 mm long line AB has the end A 20 mm above the HP and 35 mm in front of [14M]
the VP. The end B is 80 mm above the HP and 60 mm in front of the VP. Draw
the projections of AB and determine its true inclinations with the planes.

5 A semi circular plane of diameter 80 mm has its straight edge on the HP and [14M]
inclined at 450 to the VP. The plane surface is inclined at 300 to the HP. Draw its
projections.
OR
6 A pentagonal pyramid of side of the base equal to 40 mm and axis length 70 [14M]
mm is resting on a corner of its base on HP such that the base is inclined to HP
at 450. The base edge opposite to the resting corner is inclined at 600 to the VP.
Draw the projections of the pentagonal pyramid.
SECTION-IV
7 Draw the isometric view of a cylinder of base diameter 50 mm and axis [14M]
70 mm for the following cases. The axis of the cylinder is perpendicular
to the H.P

8 Draw the isometric of a pentagonal pyramid of base side 30 mm and axis [14M]
60 mm for the following two cases. The pyramid is kept on its base on the
H.P
