TIPS FOR

TAKING NATURAL CARE OF YOUR TEETH

1
Introduction

For the health of your teeth, you don't need all these dental products sold in the supermarket,
usually filled with chemical ingredients. Mother Nature as always offers us natural, simple
and effective treatments, which are often multi-use. So why complicate life with chemicals

We should all take care of our teeth from a very young age, to prevent problems such as
cavities, gingivitis, sores, tartar or infections.

We would thus have pretty; healthy teeth and we would avoid many unpleasant visits to
the dentist.

Discover below, the best tips to take care of your teeth with diet advice, good habits and
homemade natural remedies.

2
Take natural care of your teeth
To take proper care of your teeth, you must take into account the various factors that
influence their appearance and health:

1. Food
2. Hygiene
3. Toothpaste
4. Whitening products

If you start treatment that takes all these factors into account, you will get deep and visible
results in a short time and you can prevent dental and oral problems in the long term.

3
Avoid sugar

We all know that white sugar has harmful

effects on health and teeth. However, we
need to know its effects well to completely
eliminate it from our diet.
Our body also needs calcium to assimilate
white sugar, and it will therefore steal this
mineral from food or where it is found, for
example, in teeth and bones.

A diet rich in minerals and calcium

Let's start with the basics: adequate calcium
intake is essential for bone and dental
structure. Indeed, calcium is the most
abundant mineral salt in the body and we
need it to be healthy. Almost 99% of calcium
is concentrated in bones and teeth. Calcium is
mainly found in:

5. Dairy products 6. The almonds

7. Cod 8. Beans
9. Sardines 10. Parsley
11. Sesame 12. Spinach
13. Broccoli 14. Tofu

In addition, sugar acidifies the body, and

especially our mouth, which predisposes us to
any type of dental disorder.
You can also replace sugar with:
• Bee honey, agave or maple syrup
• Coconut sugar
• Xylitol

4
Fight against acidity

The stomach acid that many people suffer from also affects the health of the mouth through
the gases that come out of the stomach and alter the pH of saliva.

To regulate the acidity, it is therefore necessary to have a very alkaline diet, rich in fresh
vegetables, dried fruits and seeds.

3. Use dental floss

Many people do not yet use dental floss, which is an essential habit for the care of teeth.
It should be done every day to remove the food that gets stuck in your teeth and prevent
tartar and infections.

5
Watch out for mouthwashes

Conventional mouthwashes contain alcohol and other ingredients that are too harsh on our
teeth.

• If you want to cool off and have a pleasant taste in your mouth, you can try rinsing
yourself off with oils diluted in water.
• We also recommend mixing mint oil with lemon.
However, make sure that these are pure essential oils, suitable for consumption, and not
synthetic essences harmful to health.

To help you

✓ Mouthwash with xylitol (birch bark extract)

Xylito is a natural sweetener, extracted from birch bark, with the same power as traditional
sugar, but with 40% less calories.
It is also recognized as beneficial for oral health: it is effective for gingivitis problems
(inflammation of the gums) and it reduces dental plaque thanks to 2 actions:

the bacteria responsible for cavities cannot assimilate it

unlike other sugars, it is non-acidifying, it does not attack the enamel of your teeth
If you are prone to cavities and gingivitis, do not hesitate to have mouthwashes to improve
your oral and dental hygiene. Do not forget to make noise during the bath, it is essential.
Bonus: you can use it in your pastries and drinks

6
Vegetable charcoal to whiten teeth

The best natural remedy to whiten teeth without damaging the enamel is vegetable charcoal,
a black powder which, despite its appearance, has the ability to lighten the color of teeth.
It is indeed very effective in absorbing toxins and particles, and driving them outwards.
One day a week, brush your teeth with vegetable charcoal to notice its whitening benefits.
another more abrasive alternative:

Baking soda bleaching

Baking can be your best friend. His qualities? It prevents the appearance of tartar and cavities,
and gives more whiteness to the teeth and freshness to the breath.
Place a pinch of baking soda on your toothbrush and gently rub your teeth. Don't do it every
day, huh, because it's still an abrasive action. But think about it from time to time for a little
whiteness bonus!

Bonus: bicarbonate can be used as a deodorant, shampoo, bath salt, skin peel, to aid
digestion in a glass of water; combined with vinegar or lemon juice, it removes stubborn
stains in the kitchen. It absorbs odors in the fridge. In short, bicarbonate is high class, a must
have in the kitchen, in the broom closet and in your bathroom.
Caution: even if it is natural, bicarbonate may be contraindicated in certain cases or in parallel
with particular treatments. If in doubt, seek the advice of your dentist.

✓ Coconut Oil Dental “Mask”

Coconut oil is a great alternative to dental products containing fluoride.

Application: before the usual brushing, apply a teaspoon of coconut oil (organic) on your
teeth and interstices. Leave on for 10 - 15 min. Then rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water.

Bonus: coconut oil is used as a nourishing cream on the skin (face and body) and nails, as a
mask on the ends of the hair, as a fat in pastries (for example delicious dark chocolate cookies)
or in frying.

✓ Inflamed gums: salt

Gargling regularly with a little salty water (coarse salt that is dissolved) will detoxify your
gums. The more salty it is, the more it will detoxify; however, depending on the inflammation,
the sensation can be unpleasant if it is too salty -> you can decide how much salt you want to
add.
Then rinse your mouth with clean water.

Bonus: salt water can also be used as a toothpaste: you dip your toothbrush in it, then brush
with a rinse with clear water. More economical and simple than that, there is no!

of your teeth and irritate and weaken your gums. This is why some people prefer to avoid
putting it in their homemade toothpaste. Here is a recipe where we replace baking soda with
calcium carbonate (Meudon white), much softer for your teeth. We also add xylitol for its
anti-cavity properties, and cosgard which is a natural preservative.

• 30 g white clay
• 40 ml of water
• 1 teaspoon virgin coconut oil
• About twenty drops of essential oils of your choice
• 1 tablespoon xylitol
• 25 drops of cosgard

Preparation steps:
Avoid metal utensils, which can react with clay.
• In a bowl, mix the white of Meudon, the clay and the water.
• In another bowl, mix the coconut oil and xylitol, then add the essential oils.
• Add the second mixture to the first, and mix until you get a homogeneous paste.
• Add the cosgard and mix. Pour your toothpaste into a jar with a lid to keep it.
