    NM400 is a wear resistant steel with good strength, hardness, wear resistance and weldability. It contains carbon, silicon, manganese, phosphorus, sulfur, chromium, nickel, molybdenum and boron. Mechanical properties include a hardness of 370-430 HBW, yield strength of 1000 MPa, tensile strength of 1250 MPa and elongation of 12%. Impact testing shows an energy of 30J at -20°C. NM400 is delivered in a quenched and tempered condition with surface, thickness, shape and flatness tolerances according to EN standards. It should not be exposed to over 250°C after delivery.
