    1. What are the communication models? Why do you think they were introduced?
    There are a total of 5 communication model:
    A. Aristotle Model of Communication
    It is introduced to make the speaker as the center in the communication.
    As the speaker is the key role in the communication and takes complete
    charge in the communication while the audience’s role is passive.

    B. Berlo’s Model of Communication


    The Berlo’s Model of Communication is introduced to make the speaker
    and the listener on a common ground for them to have a smooth
    conversation.

    C. Shannon and Weaver Model of Communication

    The Shannon and Weaver Model of Communication is introduced to


    represent the communication process in a linear form which involves a one way
    communication from a sender transmitting a message to a receiver.

    D. Schramm’s Model of Communication

    The Schramm’s Model of Communication can be used to determine how


    the communication between two people works when they are exchanging
    information, ideas, or attitudes.

    E. Helical Model of Communication

    The Helical Model of Communication understand communication in a


    broader perspective and considers all the activities of an individual from day
    one to present. The activities that an individual did will affect their process of
    communication.

    2. How does one model differ from other/s?

    The difference between Aristotle’s Model of communication and Berlo’s


    Model of communication is that the Aristotle’s focuses on the speaker of the
    communication while in Berlo’s it introduces to make the speaker and the
    audiences on the common ground. The Shannon and Weaver’s and
    Shramm’s differ in how the communication is delivered. In the Shannon and
    Weaver’s model of communication it represent a one-way communication
    while in Shramm’s Model of communication it shows the exchanged
    between the sender and receiver.
    3. If you were to choose a conceptual model for communication, what would you
    prefer and why? How can you be guided by those models when you communicate?

    I prefer using the Helical Model of communication because this model


    considers the past experiences and activities of an individual in the past. As the
    helix shows the lowest level of forming message the communication became
    more complex and spiral grows wider in which people share more information as
    the individual’s life goes on.

    4. How do the principles of effective oral communication differ from those effective
    written communication? Do they have similarities at all?

    Oral communication is the most commonly used medium in exchanging


    information. It involves gathering information through spoken words. Written
    communication, on the other hand, is a formal means of communication, wherein
    exchanging information or messages is done through written words and letters.

    5. How can one observe ethics in communication?

    Observing the transparency of the words is one of the key elements of


    ethical communication. It is unethical to hide or give an unclear statement and
    answering a question by spinning or keeping a fact about a topic by hiding it in fancy
    and irrelevant words. Maintaining your integrity will also establish your credibility
    and trustworthiness to someone. It will resulted in them trusting you and viewing you
    as an ethical person.

    6. Why is it important to have a code of conduct or a code of ethics?

    Code of conduct is a set of ethical conduct for employees to follow. It’s important
    to have a code of conduct because it lays out the rules for behavior and it prevented
    individuals to do unethical behavior. When the administrator adhere to the code of
    ethics, it sends a message that every employee should follow.
