MARTIN LUTHER KING

Martin Luther King Jr.  was a well-known American pastor of the Baptist Church and
activist who carried out crucial work in the United States leading the civil rights movement
for African Americans and who In addition, she participated as an activist in numerous
protests against the war in Vietnam and poverty in general. Martin Luther King, a very
young civil rights activist, organized and conducted a number of peaceful activities calling
for the right to vote, non-discrimination and other basic civil rights for black people in the
United States.  2 Most of the rights claimed by the movement would be approved with the
enactment of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Voting Rights Act of 1965. The murder of
Martin Luther King is remembered as one of the greatest leaders and heroes in American
history, and in the modern history of nonviolence. He was posthumously awarded the
Presidential Medal of Freedom by Jimmy Carter in 1977 and the Gold Medal of the United
States Congress in 2004. Since 1986, Martin Luther King Jr. Day has been a public holiday
in the United States.

In conclusion, Martin Luther King was the clergyman and African-American activist who
led the Civil Rights Movement. Like Mandela and Gandhi, King advocated non-violent
methods to promote civil rights in the United States and around the world.

His work focused on the abolition of racial segregation in the United States, and he led the
Montgomery bus boycott in 1955 and the 1963 March in Washington, which culminated in
the iconic "I have a dream" speech.

"I have a dream, a single dream, keep dreaming. To dream of freedom, to dream of
justice, to dream of equality and I wish I had no need to dream of them anymore."
