ASSIGNMENT #1

LIMBO, MARJORIE B.

1. WHAT IS LABOR STANDARDS?

A labor standard is the average amount of time it takes the average worker to perform a
task correctly. The definition is simple but it has a few key elements. First, a labor
standard is a measure of time: how long it takes to do a piece of work. Second, it assumes
the task is performed correctly.

2. WHAT IS LABOR RELATION LAW?

The Labor Code of the Philippines governs employment practices and labor relations in

the Philippines. It also identifies the rules and standards regarding employment such as
pre-employment policies, labor conditions, wage rate, work hours, employee benefits,
termination of employees, and so on.
