Classification of Tidal Power Plant
The power generation of a tidal power plants is categorised by the number of basin used in a
system. There are two types of tidal power plants which are the single basin system and
double basin system. Each of the different tidal power plants system can be operate by two
methods such as the one way systems and the two way systems for power generation.
Advantages
-Eco-friendly and it’s powered by natural phenomenon.
-Energy is reusable.
-Does not produce poisonous gas to the environment.
Disadvantages
The cost to build tidal power plant is very costly.
The power plant must be located at a very far distance from the load centers. This increases
the cost of transportation.
-Only can be built in natural sites.
