“Atmanirbhar Bharat” in the field of ARCHERY

Winning an Olympic Medal is a matter of Pride to an individual and the Country. In the history of Olympic Games for
India, we have so far won a total of 28 medals which includes 9 Gold medals - 8 for Hockey which is our NATIONAL
GAME and 1 for Shooting won by Abhinav Bindra.

With more than 130 crores population, our performance in Olympic games is not a success story so far. What could
be the reason? Certainly, it is not because we do not have the right talent or the hunger for achievement but its
majorly because we do not have facilities or equipment which are needed to achieve the desired results and success.

Country which is known as “The LAND of LORD RAMA and KRISHNA - the Strongest Archers” has not been able to
secure a single medal so far in Olympics in the ARCHERY EVENT. Irony is - We were the champions of this game
thousands of years back and were the pioneers in developing this form of skill into Marshal Art.

Is this something because we do not have the required capability or skill? The Answer is a big “NO”.

If we look across our states – we have several Young athletes in rural / urban areas who are capable and keen to
learn this ART and be the Champions. The question is the affordability and the availability. Can we create more of
great archers like Limba Ram, Jayanta Kumar, Atanu Das, Deepika Kumari, Abhishek Verma for INDIA to increase the
probability and firm chances of WINNING the game?

The Answer is a BIG “YES”!!!!!

Need of the time is indigenous approach for “Archery as a Game” to grow in our country. Urge of the youth is make
it more ACCESSIBLE, AFFORDABLE and DOABLE for common people and share that dream of listening “JANA GANA
MANA” when our fellow Indian stands on the podium and with him the entire world would stand in RESPECT.

Inspiration from Insult -

Few years back when I was playing the State Championship in Maharashtra, while shooting an arrow I lost one small
bolt from my aiming tool. I somehow finished the competition and needless to say - I did not do well with all the
distraction and distorted equipment.

I checked locally for the bolt which is a simple hardware. To my surprise, the manufacturing technique applied for
that was not available in India and hence I had to order it from international dealer. Post the Order, I followed up
with the dealer for shipping time and he vaguely responded “You will get it after 3 weeks”…..

A small hardware like a bolt, with the delivery time of 3 weeks was too much. It hit me like an insult because
someone was actually taunting and telling us that as a country “We are not good enough to produce this locally”.
Live the Dream -

That day I decided that ONE DAY I will manufacture the entire Archery equipment in India.

With this DREAM - on 25th July 2017 I registered the FRIST Archery Equipment Manufacturing Company - “Sharang
Archery Equipment Pvt Limited” in Mumbai. (To explain a bit on the name of the Company - “SHARANG” Was the
name of the Bow used by “LORD VISHNU” initially and then passing it on to “LORD RAMA” and finally to “LORD
KRISHNA” as the last worthy user of that bow.)

I needed a good team who would share my passion and dream AND when we are working for our country we do
meet people who share your dream of making a place for our “Tri-Colour” on that podium of International
Equipment manufacturers and giving India the much-deserved respect in the field of Archery.

In due course of Research and Development of various parts required in the bow, I came across the humongous
talent pool we have in the field of Engineering, Archery and Operations. Combining all of it I formed a team who
were Masters in their respective fields.

With a team of similar inspiration, Dinesh Sirasat (M. Tech IITD) and Abhijeet Khatri (M. Tech IITB) who are my
engineering Experts, Pratik Thete (National level Archery Coach) who is my Sports SME and Ms Pooja as my
Operation’s Champion.

Manufacturing each and every part of the Bow in India was never an easy task. It was something new for our
engineering community and it certainly needed some time and patience to learn the science behind it. With our
competitors having 70+ years of experience and a complete know-how, it was a long way to catch up on QUALITY,
TECHNOLOGY and PRECISION.

Me and my team have worked on this project for the last 3 years, day in and day out and we believe we have
reached some distance today.

I personally Head Research and Development wing with Dinesh and Abhijeet who are my technology experts.

Dinesh took the full responsibility of designing India’s FIRST “CAM”. Abhijeet accepted the challenge of creating the
FIRST “CARBON FIBRE LIMBS” while I worked on manufacturing the “ ALUMINIUM HANDLES” used for COMPOUND
and RECURVE BOW. Pratik being the SME and a coach in Archery field spent all the time in testing it “ON” and “OFF”
the field and Pooja worked very closely in reviewing the Operational process and progress of entire process.

Everyone achieved their respective goal to make an indigenous equipment with a Tag on it “MADE IN INDIA”
India is Ready to compete!!!

Today - Sharang Archery has its first complete “MADE IN INDIA” COMPOUND BOW and RECURVE BOW with Pure
Carbon limbs and is ready for the launch in INDIA and the International market.

Today - Sharang Team can claim that any archer in our country need not wait for “3 weeks” to get a small hardware
used in the bow because it is all available in India and easily accessible.

TODAY - any aspiring archer does not have to shell heaps of money or wait for a sponsor to get him / her the
required equipment for the practice.

It is OUR OWN PRODUCT and ready to CHALLENGE the entire world on PERFORMANCE and QUALITY which is needed
at an INTERNATIONAL level.

Having the equipment available in Indian market at much lower price is the biggest advantage and makes it an
ACHIEVABLE DREAM for any Indian family who want to see their child playing Archery as a professional sport.

Sharang’s aim is to make Archery “A science and Art” both readily available to our athletes to make the most of it
and make our country proud

“Vande Mataram”

Yours Sincerely,
