Futurism glorifies modernity and rejects tradition, as seen in the works of artists like Umberto Boccioni and Giacomo Bella. In contrast, Afrofuturism as depicted in Black Panther values technology but also treasures African culture, traditions, and history. While both incorporate future visions, Afrofuturism differs from standard Futurism in its emphasis on not abandoning the importance of the past as it looks to the future.

Is there any difference between futurism& Afro futurism?
In my opinion, there is to begin with , Futurism has been created to glorify
modernity and to liberate people from the weight of their past. It strongly rejects any form of traditionalism. Many artists have embraced this concept and have incorporated in their work such as: Umberto Boccioni and Giacomo Bella. Although, the names of the two artistic monuments are almost the same, there is a big discrepancy between them in regards of what they stand for. From the film, “Black Panther”, we recollect that the African people, respectively the Citizens of Wakanda, treasure their culture background, traditions, habits and national dress very much. They actually accentuate that throughout the movie. They also value morality and are people with honor. So, to sum up, I believe that Afrofuturism channels its attention on the more technological part rather than embracing a future without taking history into account, as Futurism does. PS; I tried my best, I hope all it s fine😊
