Test each component of the electrical protection system in order to determine that all of the
components work properly. Use the tables below to determine if the components are working
properly. The tests should be performed on an engine that is started for the first time and at
recommended service intervals. The service intervals are provided in the Operation and Maintenance
Manual.
If a problem occurs, refer to the index for the correct troubleshooting procedures. In order to
determine the correct engine rpm, refer to the speed specification chart in the Testing and Adjusting
section.
25 + 5 rpm less than 75% Overspeed Press the 75% Verify No engine

Verify rpm button shutdown
25 + 5 rpm more than 75% Overspeed Press the 75% Verify Air and fuel
B
Verify rpm button shutoff
Manually reset the air shutoff lever at the top of the air inlet, if equipped. Press the ESS
C
reset button.

terminate rpm emergency stop switch shutoff
Manually reset the air shutoff lever at the top of the air inlet, if equipped. Turn ES switch

in the dirction that is shown on the face of the push button in order to reset the switch.
Any rpm above the crank terminate Push the normal stop switch
