- Height: The logistics of constructing a building

of this height in unprecedented not only
delivering the materials to the required level
but also the OHS of the workers and the
environmental factors.
- Weight: This structure weighed in at 500,000
tonne which required enormous footings and
piles to manage the weight.
- Heat: To build a structure this high it
RISKS predominately needs a glass window façade
but a regular window in the Dubai heat would
turn the building into an oven. The design
team needed to create a product which
maximized the sunlight but reduced the UV
and heat that comes with this.
- Foundation: The foundation of the site wasn’t
stable soil but weak sandstones and
siltstones.
