functions of the Human Resource Manager
- Explain the career development of a Human
Resource Manager
- Have an idea on how different methods of human
resource recruitment are done
- Know the advantages & disadvantages of the
different methods of recruitment

- Describe performance appraisal programs and its
different methods
- Point out the criteria in promoting and demoting an
employee
- Expound the facts on when an employee’s
separation is considered positive or negative

- Discuss strategic objectives of compensations and
explain the concept of market rate
- Identify employee benefits, pension, and
allowances

Reassessment Requirements To pass this module, students are to submit the required
case studies, exercises/research activities, and final retail
marketing plan. Students who fail the case studies and
discussion questions will be required to resubmit a
reflective assignment. Those who fail the
exercises/research will be given another set to be

resubmitted. Final output failure must be compensated by
a submission of a simple business proposal. All
supplemental assessments must be resubmitted during the
college supplemental examination period.

Indicative Students Workload Independent Study (preparation of course and review of
materials): 30 hours Researching journals; reading
textbooks recommended in module booklist; reviewing
lecture material and class notes
Independent Study (preparation for assessment, incl.
