In addition to the Rolling Trophies, Swar Sadhna Samiti also presents Cash Awards, Certificates and
Mementos to our prize winners. Our main aim is to nurture young talent, so we invite trophy and first
prize winners to perform in our monthly programmes, Bal, Kishore and Annual Sangeet Sammelans –
giving them the rare opportunity of sharing the stage with distinguished musicians from all over India.

 Rules And Regulations
Please study the Rules & Regulations carefully before filling the Application Form.

1. This Competition is open to amateurs only. They should not be performing independently on Radio,
Television or in Music Conferences.
2. Competitors must be present at least 30 minutes before the time stated for their item along with their
instruments &/or accompanists.
3. No boarding, lodging, train fare, conveyance or any other charges will be paid to the competitors or their
accompanists.
4. The decision of the appointed judges will be final and legally binding on the Competitors.
5. Results will be announced soon after the competition, and will also be posted on our website. Results
will not be given on Telephone.
6. Rolling trophies presented on stage must not be taken from premises and must be handed back to
organisers after photos.
7. The organizers may provide Harmonium and Tabla of Kali 1, 2, 4, 5 sur only. No other instruments
will be arranged by us. Competitors requiring other surs, will have to bring their own. The respective
accompanist may also be available, provided mention is made in detail of the same along with the sur of the
instrument in the application form. However, it is preferable if Competitors bring their own accompanists
and instruments.
8. Harmonium and sarangi accompaniment will not be allowed in the Senior, Junior or Sub-Junior Khayal
Gayaki & Tarana groups except for “swar support.”
9. Competitors in the Dance items will have to make their own arrangements about orchestra, make up,
accompanists etc. Recorded music is permitted. Competitors will have to arrange for their own CD
players/Music system.
10. Right of admission reserved.
11. The judges will have the prerogative to ask any Competitor to stop before the time, if in their opinion the
Competitor is not up to the standard.
12. A Competitor can take part in any number of group/sub-group but each entry will have to be on a separate
official entry form along with necessary entry fee for each category.
13. Film music in any item in any form is strictly prohibited.
14. Competitors will be disqualified if found speaking to the judges or asking their friends to do the same.
15. Video recording is strictly prohibited during the competition.
16. A separate group for participants below 10 years may be formed provided sufficient entries are received in
each of the sub groups of instrumental and dance categories.
17. On the day of the competition, Competitors will have to produce proof of age if asked for.
18. The qualifying date of birth for each competitor will be his/her age as on 31st December, 2017.
19. Only the first 40 entries will be accepted in each group. In case the entries exceed the manageable
limits, the organizers reserve the right to stop accepting entry forms, even before the final date of
acceptance.
20. A maximum of nine entries only per Guru shall be permitted in each group.
21. Competitors of Dance forms must include both Nritta and Nrittya in their items of performance as separate
marks will be allocated for the same.
22. Participants in any instrumental or percussion category must bring their own instruments.
