onto plain fabric to make a stylish cushion cover that no one would guess was made from scraps.

Tiebacks can be a decorative feature in their own nght as well as a means of holding curtains out of the way when they are not in use. Make this one from a plain fabric that is used elsewhere in the room and then add simple fabll1c rosettes, each with a button covered in patterned fabric. at the centre, to provide little splashes of colour.

3 hours This padded headboard requires only a little very simple sewII19 and IS surprisingly easy to construct. The headboard is padded with a layer of waddinq and covered With a cheery polka-dot fabric. The buttons are covered WiUl bits of ernbruidery cut from old tablecloths that have seen better days - but you could use any scraps of fabnc. Two ricrac braid fin 511 the board off beautifully.
