Kodi 17 Iptv Guide
Kodi 17 Iptv Guide
Kodi 17 Iptv Guide
Do yourself a favour and don’t buy a £40 android box, a firestick or any of that crap. Sure it’ll work
but you won’t get the best experience and when it comes to addons that scrape sites (Covenant,
Exodus, etc) you’ll really notice the lack of power.
On that I run LibreELEC but you could use OSMC or OpenELEC. For the purpose of this guide I’ll use
the windows version of KODI cause its easier to navigate collecting screenshots etc.
Dear god theres nothing worse than installing a KODI ‘build’ populated with a million and one
addons and a completely redundant bells and whistles skin. You’ll spend more time dicking with it
than actually watching TV. KEEP IT SIMPLE
So install KODI in whatever flavour you choose and eventually you’ll be looking at a screen that looks
like this
First thing we want to do is upgrade the skin with the MOD’d version. To do this first we need to
install the repo, which you can download from here.
https://github.com/Guilouz/repository.guilouz/raw/master/_repo/repository.guilouz/repository.guil
ouz-1.0.3.zip
https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=267343
Once you have the .zip we need to add the repo to KODI. Navigate to ‘add-ons’ from the main menu.
Then ‘My Add-ons’ highlight the two dots to go up a level
Then select ‘install from zip file’. You’ll get a ‘Disabled’ dialogue pop up, click on settings
And allow ‘Unknown sources’. Unfortunately you’ll now have to go back around Add-ons -> my Add-
ons -> two dots -> install from zip file. You’ll see a couple of items installing on the top right of the
screen. Once its done select ‘install from repository’ -> Guilouz Repository -> Look And Feel -> Skin ->
Estuary MOD (KODI 17)
Hit ‘Install’. When its done it’ll ask you if you want to switch to the new skin. Say ‘Yes’
Bingo, but we’re not done with this bit yet!
Navigate back to the main menu. On the way back it might ask you if you want to install any
dependencies, allow it to. Once back at the main menu select the cog menu item at the bottom to
enter KODI’s settings.
Select ‘Skin Settings’ scroll down to ‘Necessary Addons’ and start installing the ones that are missing
Once all the bullets are checked you are good to go
Now its time to get the IPTV setup so navigate back to the main menu and back into addons. This
time the we need to hit the icon on the bottom left that looks like a jigsaw puzzle
This time select ‘My Addons’ and scroll down to PVR Clients. Once you have the list of clients select
‘PVR IPTV Simple Client’ then select configure. Copy and paste your .m3u and EPG paths from your
provider in here.
Pro Tip: Manually typing in this info into KODI is a pain in the ass when you aren’t using the windows
build. To Get around this instead of configuring the addon in KODI, enable it with no settings and
then navigate KODI’s addon_data folder. This varies from system to system
LibreELEC/OpenELEC /storage/.kodi/userdata/
Android Android/data/org.xbmc.kodi/files/.kodi/userdata/addon_data
Linux ~/.kodi/userdata/addon_data/addon_data
You want to navigate to the pvr.iptvsimple folder and edit your details into settings.xml
https://imgur.com/a/IPwEG
Once that’s done restart KODI and everything should start to work. We just need to tweak the PVR
settings so navigate back to settings and choose PVR & Live TV, make sure that the settings are
expanded to expert level on the bottom left. Then in the general tab make sure Synchronise channel
groups with backends is selected.
Then go down to the Guide tab and change the default select action to Switch channel
Pressing the left arrow and the selecting group will bring up all the channel groups
Pressing E will bring up the EPG
To change the default action of selecting TV so that it opens the EPG instead of the channels view we
need to go back to settings and into skin settings, then select customize main menu. On the TV Item
select change action. Select Live TV then Guide
Part Four: Catchup
So at the moment I’m with Ace-TV (affiliate link, don’t click if it doesn’t float your boat) and they
provide an app with 3 days catchup so I integrate this into the main menu.
Download the addon from your provider. Goto addons -> jigsaw button -> Install from zip. Once its
done go back to addons, highlight the one you want and press C to bring up the context menu and
select settings
Enter your username and password then hit OK. We can now go back to skin settings and add TV
Catchup to the main menu
Add-on-> Video add–on -> Ace TV -> TV Catchup and select Create menu item to here
Now when we go back to the home page it should look like this
That’s it, you’re done. If you want you can add other actions to the start menu like box sets and
movies just rinse and repeat the above.
At this point I’d be inclined to install the covenant addon. Instructions here https://seo-
michael.co.uk/how-to-install-the-covenant-kodi-krypton/ and I’d get a real-debrid account to plug
into that for super-fast 1080p Movie and TV Show streams
